But they'll still be good enough for illegals to pick tomatoes and drive drunk all over the shore.

Point taken...after the Charlie Foxtrot down here in VA, DMV got serious about issuing licenses..
NC and TN are the remaining easy states to obtain licenses..they will be next on this list, probably.
Bout F'n time.

TN in particular. My family in Easton knows a bunch of folks who have been killed or injured by illegals with TN licenses.

(By contrast, the same survey ranks Virginia in the top category when it comes to protecting the integrity of its licenses.)

Yep! We’re also in the Top Ten States with the smartest people!

Great. Not only do I have to endure slow, inefficient and insolent service at the MVA, now my driver’s license is not worth anymore than the plastic used to make it. And to add injury to insult my driver’s license photo looks more like the Nick Nolte mug shot than any resemblance to me.

I've had enough fiascoes in Maryland. For a little state we are in the news too much.

LOL...yeah.

In Annapolis we have 2 or 3 people killed daily by marauding TN license holders.

It's starting to be a real problem.

I'll believe something is being done when governors and legislators are arrested and charged with failure to obey / enforce the law.

Of course, the governors and legislators aren't going to obey / enforce the law, and I'll be completely surprised if anyone will arrest governors or legislators, although many governors and legislators should be arrested for violating this law.

Something has to happen to curb particular states from enacting harm on the nation. I don't think another law is going to make any difference, if that law isn't enforced, but it is certain the states out of compliance with the law will not enforce the law, therefore those states will remain out of compliance. Maybe this is a good first step but come 2008 nothing will change and our nation is quickly running out of time to bring our borders under control before the next attack comes from across those same borders. I look at this law as a CYA for those at the federal level to say see, "We did all we could." This itself is a lie, but those at the federal level will be certain to point when and if it becomes necessary for a CYA.

We have the same problem here that the country has. Although we have a Republican Chief Executive we have Democrats running the State.

Democrats run Maryland and liberals run them. As long as we are held in the hands of PG, Montgomery and Baltimore city and County the rest of us are farting in a high wind.

Just as in the nation the top executive cant do much when he is opposed by the legislative branch, and make no mistake though Republicans are in the majority on the Hill the Dems are running the legislative branch.

Feds should tie Road money to the REAL ID act like they did to the under 21 drinking and the seat belt laws.

OK, I will take the opposing position.

A driver's license is for driving, and that's it. It's not an identification card, and it's not a passport. Anyone with a license issued by the sovereign state of Maryland can drive in that state, and the other sovereign states are obliged to recognize the license.

If you want a national ID card, issue one.

For the past two years, Republican Delegate Herbert McMillan has introduced legislation that would ensure the state would deny licenses to illegals, and both times the bills were killed by the Democrats. Mr. McMillan plans to introduce a similar bill in next year's session. The legislation is critical to homeland security and deserves support, but it has no possibility of passing unless Mr. Ehrlich is prepared to endorse it and take an active role in fighting for its passage. We urge the governor to act now.

The fact that democrats are against all measures to provide National Security is mind boggling. Before the next elections, the GOP needs to have some dynamite commercials that will zing them in every state, stating facts like this. Once the sheeple are informed, dems don't have a prayer, but the word MUST get out!

Yes, but holding my breath waiting for that to happen...not.

Milkuski will easily get reelected as often as she chooses to run and although I’ve volunteered for Michael Steele, his chances don’t look so good to take Sarbane’s seat and sadly Bob Ehrlich is vulnerable for reelection.

The Baltimore Sun will do all they can to make sure of it.

I occasionally play golf at the course at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds here in Harford County MD. The course is open to the public but you have to go through a security checkpoint and show ID. I guess my driver’s license won’t be sufficient anymore and I’ll have to carry my birth certificate just get in a round now?
