The wheelchair is worth more than $3,000. It's burgundy in color and has "Scooters of America" written on the back.
This is more valuable than my car!
To: paulat
Unbelievable. I wonder what other crimes these perverts
have done.

Some chairs can get outrageously expensive, depending on what they can do. $3,000 is cheap compared to some I've seen before...

This is more valuable than my car! Is it more valuable than not having cerebral palsy?

Perhaps they got into an accident on the way home and were killed by the wheelchair in some kind of happy ending.
To: paulat
Was it entirely necessary to mention that they were driving an SUV?

I don't know if they're 'perverts' as much as they are 'scumbags'... I can't really call stealing a wheelchair perverted, but I can sure as heck call it despicable.

Does "help catch the thieves" also translate into 'rough them up'. I don't advocate violence but one can bet the perps will be found with a few bruises.

A similar crime was posted here within the week. That one was in Cleveland I think.
Copycat crime or is this a common thing the press is just catching onto ?
Either way the perps should be hung.

Well, the wheelchair probably wouldn't fit in a compact.

You prey on the innocent, you should be shot on sight.

She started walking for help Why wasn't she crawling for help?
To: Bernard
At least they didn't talk about the story in a way that would make it seem that the SUV stole the wheelchair. This time, the SUV was merely an accomplice.
