The New York Times' revelation yesterday that President Bush authorized the National Security Agency to conduct domestic eavesdropping The spin starts in the very firs sentence. The targets of the "evesdropping" were foreign and located in foreign countries. The fact that were talking with US residents is no prohibition under the law to such surveillance.
And I'm not especially fond of the No Such Agency folks, but in this case they are just doing their job and doing it within the law.

I only hope 43's as steamed as I am...If so, God help the Dems. Just think if Rummy and Condi are equally steamed. Then the Dems are really toast, crispy critters even.

You might be right about that, mewzilla. The Pubbies are certainly not acting like conservatives and are losing quite a bit of support.

IMHO, the main reason the NYT held off on publishing this article was so that Risen could finish his book, get the 60 Minutes interview lined up, etc.
Pardone me for being a cynical SOB :)

(Article posts of just one or two sentences do not preserve the quality of FR. Lazy FReepers be gone!)

No pardon needed, you're probably absolutely correct.
