No. God created THC in the pot plant as an insecticide--the chemical kills bugs that eat the plant.
An interesting subject. I offer this then...
Research demonstrates the moderate efficacy of Cannabis as a repellent crop or botanical pesticide. We are faced, however, with a paradox: some of the pests controlled by Cannabis are also known to attack hemp and marijuana crops. If Cannabis serves as an effective pesticide, then how can the pests infesting Cannabis survive?
And...One of the most destructive pests of hemp is the corn stem borer moth (Ostrinia nubilalis Hb.), known in North America as the European corn borer.
It sure isn't killing the borer moth.

"Appalled was making a joke that some people were too stupid to get"

I understand your frustration: if I'd been caught red-handed passing off what someone else said as my own ("to coin a phrase"), I'd be angry at the person who pointed it out, too.

He grew plants. How could that be a "major felony." >>>> Like this.... 21 United States Code Section 841. Next question?

The bugs in question are pests found in Europe and Asia, marijuana's native habitat. It was brought to America by Europeans IIRC.

Give it a few million more years to evolve.

People smoke pot regardless of the law. The law makes criminals out of otherwise law-abiding citizens. These silly laws stop very few people from smoking pot. And you think the commerce clause is the way government protects people? Your arguments are getting more and more ridiculous.

I'm with ya! I went to an Ivy league school, played football there, have a bs in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Accounting - graduated #3 in my class (without REALLY trying). have an IQ of about 145, run a million dollar business, play guitar and keyboards in a band, routinely run Class V whitewater in a kayak, scuba dive when I get the chance, can kick almost anyone's butt in Ping-Pong, work out every day, am a certified "Master Gardener" with over 1 acre completely landscaped by myself - alone, I'm an avid lepidopterist with a collection numbering in the hundreds of thousands while also rearing about 2000 butterflies and moths every summer, I'm married with 3 dogs and 2 cats and a wonderful wife. I work anywhere from 10-16 hours a day on my business - 6 days a week.

Oh yeah, I also smoke pot every day.

Now, Mr. Apalled ....what is it that you do that you feel morally superior enough to judge me. I laugh at your lack intellect and logic, I laugh at your puniness and your lack of achievement (and income - I make WELL over 6 figures). And, I am "Apalled but not suprised" by your ignorance and hypocrisy.

A fascist in the sense of attributing powers to the Federal Government those that are given to the states. But statist is more accurate a description, IMO.

Strange... I don't use pot or any other mind altering drugs...

And the reason why?

I don't want to. But somehow no one else can come to that same conclusion unless the nanny state tells them too...

The same argument is made about guns. The little people can't be trusted with such important life and death choices... Only the elites can deal with such major choices... Just ask Diane Feinstein... She carries, but doesn't want to allow anyone else to...

The same old elitism. I can choose wisely but my neighbor can't so I'm going to make the choice for him...

Do you know the difference between pot and opium or do you just lump everything together?

I think Marx was thinking of YOU guys when he said that opium is the religion of the masses

Demonization is a tool exclusively used by liberals, socialists, dictators etc. when the facts are all on the other side. Take off your ballet shoes and stop dancing your way through the subject.

As to your "readership", it looks like you are imagining yourself to be a part of the media. That speaks volumes about you.

Either , 1 - You are kidding

or, 2 - You don't have a clue about what you are talking about.

You've only stated the obvious. The paradox still stands and you're no closer to providing an answer than you were before.

A Christian evolutionist? Isn't that a contradiction?

That last line certainly explains your thinking. And it also probably explains why you don't have any children. (MJ kills sex drive too.) I gave up my six figure job to raise mine. Put not your treasure on earth, where thieves berak in to steal it and it rusts and grows moldy.

But hey, that's okay, your cats, dogs and grandcats and granddogs will no doubt mourn you when you leave this earth.
