Cause the polls are rotten. If ever I doubted that, I wouldn't doubt it now. If the Dems thought thise was even moderately well received by the people half of their caucus would have voted to bring them home. That ALL voted against means the polls are junk.

It wasn't Jean Schmidt R-OH?

Why are these clowns still talking about intelligence and WMD... how many hearings and commissions do they need?

Obliviots.

First, the Adminstration brainwashed them.

Now, the Pubbie Reps are hypnotizing them into voting the same way.

No matter how bad the Republicans can be, the Dims can always be worse.

Not sure if it'll be on C-Span, but FOX said it would be carried live on their station.

We leave after Iraq is free and able to stand on its own.

Unfortunately that's an ambiguous goal unless defined in concrete terms. For instance, Saddam is gone, Iraq is free, they've a constitution and everything. As for standing on their own, what could that possibly mean? Economically? Militarily? Seems like it would be easier for America to see the end game if the end game were better defined.

"My husband and I were saying something similar to your thoughts. He's an old man, he wandered so, his heart may still be in great working order, but his mind won't win the war in Iraq, nor the War on Terror. God save us from emotional people. What we need are brains....and bravery."

I absolutely agree. Too many people these days think that emotion is a useful tool for deciding public policy. This is bad when it comes to domestic issues, but it is disastorous when it comes to foriegn policy. There will soon come a day when our forces will pull back and let the Iraqi forces take the lead, but that decision needs to be made by leaders of our military, not by emotional people - no matter how well-meaning they might be.

Now he decides to talk about his time in prison camp. And it is a grabber. It might work for him in his run for the President.

It is a mistake for our congressional leaders to adopt the tactics of radio talk show hosts and apply them to the legislative work of our country.

It's not a mistake to use your power to take back the setting of the agenda from the left. Even MSNBC admitted that the House was the place where the passions of the country had their airing. We weren't in the game for several months and now we're back.

Yahoo!!

I think they just shot down any chance of a big turnover in the 2006 elections, or a traitor-crat getting elected president next 2008.

Well, that barring the fickle short memory American Public.

You are exactly right and this needs to be pointed out frequently to all who oppose President Bush on the war.

my guess is sleeper. Here are some posts from the forum.

I knew it! I always have believed that Andrea Mitchell's quote was taken out of context and given much more importance than it should have been, given that in October, three months after the Novak column everybody did know about Valarie Plame. Duh! I am the smartest Freeper of all.

I'll take an egotistical Joe Wilson any day over Max Boot. At least Mr. Wilson actually served his country and in the most backwater places in the world, even in Iraq where prior to Desert Shield he was responsible for the lives of some 800 Americans and described as a hero for his work there.

Mr. Wilson did not tell any lies in his July 6, 2003 essay that asked whether the Bush administration had purposefully overlooked the intelligence acquired by his trip to Niger.

Mr. Wilson never claimed that Vice President Cheney sent him to Niger, nor did his wife send him.

Every time there is an election we are told that the terrorists are crushed or in their last throes. Reality has yet to match the rhetoric.
