Altavista.com is ok. Their upgrades made their pages more bulky in content.

www.ask.com (the "Jeeves" site) has a specific Veterans' Day message.

I like Google, too, but really - how hard would this have been? PS - thanks for
your service to your country.

I switched to Dogpile some time ago, I felt that google wasn't giving me the searches I wanted and not getting some things at all, using a very specific search. No problem with Dogpile.

By interposing his craft between the men on the beach and the enemy, Munro allowed the landing craft to safely evacuate all the Marines, including the wounded. I served on the cutter that bears his name.

Dogpile http://www.dogpile.com has their Arfie character doing a flag salute. A great logo--Happy Veterans Day to all!!--but I was disappointed that the Dogpile toolbar isn't compatible with my browser (Firefox). Hope they fix that right away.

No decorative banners but Maybe not such a gaggle of commies as Google---Use.com?
Any input?
Seems to run very fast for me!

The "Poppy" Google is PC in Canada and the UK. Not the USA.
Apparently dead Canucks and Limey's are worthy of Google's respect, but not Americans.

I just went there and only get the standard Google logo with nothing else. Ditto!

I stopped reading Google news two years ago due to the pure crap bias anti American.
If Dog Pile is a good substitute for a search engine I will dump Google in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!
Any other suggestions besides Dog Pile?

Remembrance Day is recognised by the Commonwealth countries and a large part of mainland Europe, and thus constitutes the nearest thing to an international day to remember those who fell in wars past.
Veterans Day is a US only day as far as I know.

When I try to go to www.google.com, I'm redirected to www.google.ca

So just what is
Free Republic doing different on its home page for today? I see lots of veteran's stuff there, but nothing special to Veteran's Day. Goose, gander, and all that you know.
