If the Republicans cannot come up with a sane energy policy of opening up areas in this country to drill, dropping some of the ridiculous restrictions to building refineries, etc. they are no better than the Democrats. When they piled on the oil cos. and showed their true socialist colors in wanting a "windfall profits" tax that people will get to pay at the pump, I knew they had abandoned me along with free market policies. It will be a cold day in he!! before I vote for another Republican because he is "the lesser of the two evils." They are proving daily that they are every bit as evil, not to mention stupid, as the Democrats.

Kilgore aliented people with his Hitler ads...

If you can't win on your own record and platform then it doesn't say much about you when you have to stoop to those types of ads.

Reichart of seattle flipped to support the enviornmental crowd.

He ran running that he would support anwr and then suddenly changed his mind because of pressure from the Sierra Club.

I hate these rino's more than anything else. The moderates on the virginia beach council voted for Potts. Talk about backstabbers.

The moderate dems want to flex their muscles. If the budget doesn't pass kick them off their committees. If you can't pass a budget then who cares if they leave the party. These rino's have made us look weak long enough. I'd rather have 180 solid reliable conservative votes than 50 rino's always messing things up. Enough already kick them out starting with Chafee who has kept a lot of legislation from even reaching the senate floor.

Anyone who opposes ANWR drilling now is an IDIOT. in an age of $60/barrel oil, with almost $1 TRILLION WORTH OF OIL in that frozen tundra, This is tantamount to throwing away a trillion dollars solely for emotionalism (since there is absolutely NO real environmental danger/impact from ANWR drilling).

Can we tolerate throwing away that amount of money and give instead to Chevez, Iran etc.? Of course not. It is absurd!

Who cares about the Hitler ads. Tim Kaine was running ads saying how Kilgore won't allow an abortion even if a woman was raped which is a lie.

Tim Kaine is the biggest fraud ever. He is a liberal that hides behind being catholic.

Tim Kaine is a tax hiking, abortion killing, affirmative action appeaser, cino pro death penalty, pro illegal work sites liberal commie.

Tim Kaine's staff is made up of Howard Dean's old staff. His spokeswoman is a left wing moonbat.

Kaine's record sucks who cares about some stupid ad. Kilgore had a great conservative platform. Everyone keeps saying we should run against illegals. He did that. What this shows is that Virginia has turned blue big time. Northern Virginia suburbs are like any other big metro northeast suburbs. Virginia is a liberal state.

Virginia is no longer a conservative state. Kaine kept bashing Bush going after him on this war. When we have troops in harms way and for Kaine to be using the war for political points shows you Virginia is no solidly blue.

Kaine won Fairfax county by 22 points. The rural areas voted for Kilgore. But the richmond suburbs, virginia beach, and especially liberal northern virginia which is building like crazy rejected Kilgore. They read the MSM and live by d.c and look at anything with an R next to its name as radioactive.

Kilgore didn't lose because of his ads he lost because Virginia is becoming a lot more like Maryland in demographics.

Dem base turned out in New Jersey to support Corzine. They didn't care about his skeletons. Corzine ran some tough ads they didn't care.

Dems care more about winning than Republicans. They are much more united in their disgust than Republicans.

I went to Redstate yesterday and I couldn't believe all the people supporting that commie Kaine. They are willing to support someone that supports illegals because of one stupid ad.

Dems are united to win while republicans will throw a good conservative under the bus because of a dumb ad. So now we get to pay for his liberal commie policies.

Gop will keep losing good conservatives like Kilgore while the dems will keep electing the Corzine's of the world.

Kennedy has the enviornmentalists jumping for joy but they will never vote for him.

Kennedy isn't the brightest bulb out there. He is giving up his house seat in a state he has no chance of winning.

This is exactly why conservatives should refuse to give a nickle to the RNC. Why should we finance the campaigns of RINOs who stab us in the back at every turn?

Maybe Bush should, "cough" , VETO if he really is serious about energy independence!

LOL! That'll never happen...
The truth is, Big Oil doesn't want to bring ANWR onto the market...
That would lower the price for oil...
So they make their RINO puppets play pass-the-buck...
and with a wink-wink slap-on-the-back, blame it all on the nasty enviro-whackos...

It's all a scam to make us pay more at the pump.

Why do republicans blame the whole party because of the rino's. Blame the rino's that are blocking this.

Are you going to vote against Tom Coburn because of Chris Shay's actions.

Chris Shay's is the lesser of two evils Tom Coburn isn't.

Kilgore got placed into lesser of two evils when he was a strong conservative.

How many frickn' times to they have to "pass" this? It seems every other month it's "passed" only to not be. Senate, House, Senate again, House again, yes, no, no, yes.

I'm getting sick and tired of these jerks. But oh, they can grandstand with oil company execs at "hearings".

Once, JUST ONCE, I wish someone like the ExxonMobil guy shove their BS back down their throats and point out all the crap they do with taxes and over-regulation and environmental weenie laws that keep these companies from giving us cheaper, more efficient energy.

But for some reason they think this will hurt their PR. Bull - I'll buy their products exclusively if their CEO would tell some pinhead Senator to go F themselves.

The truth is, Big Oil doesn't want to bring ANWR onto the market...

It's not that they don't want to, it's more profitable to import oil. Congress could easily make it more friendly to drill oil locally and not globally.

My question is this: If there really is that much oil there (16B barrels) wouldn't it make sense to exhaust other nation's supplies first, and save that for the US when we really need it? I never hear that point made. Didn't Rush say today that there is more oil under Utah/Colorado then under ANWR?

It doesn't matter if it's global or local, Big Oil doesn't want to bring that much oil onto the market. The extra supply would drive down prices and their profits.
