France's Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy gestures as he addresses the media during the foreign ministers council in Brussels, Monday, Nov. 7, 2005. Douste-Blazy said Monday his country was
'not a dangerous country,' or racist, despite 11 days of rioting. Douste-Blazy said he told his EU counterparts at talks that
France had the situation under control. (AP Photo/Yves logghe)

The Muslims hate every thing that is not cruel, enslaving, dishonest, hateful, disgusting, poison, stinking, putrid, rotten, insane, inane, corrupt and diabolical. So it is obvious that they hate everything except their own, cruel, enslaving, dishonest, hateful, disgusting, poisoneous, stinking, putrid, rotten, insane, inane, corrupt and diabolical selves.

"I doubt that the riots have much to do with religion or Islam per se."
I have Muslim relatives by marriage so have some insight into modern Islam. I believe you are wrong.

If that is the case then time is approaching for an American Crusade into Europe.I hope you're being sarcastic. The American Crusade into Europe hit its nadir with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War.
It is past time for the Europeans to be responsible for their own security.

All told, 4,700 cars have been burned in France since the rioting began and 1,200 suspects were detained at least temporarily, Gaudin said.
Wouldn't want to inconvenience the "youth" by detaining them too long.

we are witnessing history that happens only every thousand years or so and i for one am just dam enjoying it. France has the H bomb, I hope someone remembers to hit the self destruct button on all of them before turning out the lights.

"I believe you are wrong."
That is the sort of naivety that gives the religion of terrorism the edge it will exploit to our everlasting sorrow and the demise of the civilized world.

I do not relish another large bloc of the world under Mohammedan green. When Europe goes under, Russia will not be long after. Then the world will be Us, Islam, and China.

It makes you wonder what ever happened to the term "insurrection." Most nations, even those with liberal (in the classical sense) free-speech laws, do have laws against rioting. These laws protect the freedom of speech.
Those nations that tolerate rioting as a form of expression soon lose not only the freedom of speech but many other civil liberties as well. Of course, this pertains only to the law-abiding, not the insurrectionists.
I like your tag line, by the way.

but I don't think any Europeans have the will to change course. That, in a nutshell is what their weakness is, and may in fact be their gravestone marker, changing have to had.

President Jacques Chirac, whose government is under intense pressure to halt the violence, promised stern punishment for those behind the attacks, making his first public comments Sunday since the riots started. Heck, Bush was in LA faster than this. Where is the outrage? What is wrong with the French people. The intifada needs to be crushed in it's tracks NOW. The saddest part is that most people don't see the writing on the wall.

I do not relish another large bloc of the world under Mohammedan green. When Europe goes under, Russia will not be long after. Then the world will be Us, Islam, and China. There is also another possibility. When Emperor Constantine moved the capital of the Roman Empire east to Byzantium, it was renamed Constantinople. But Romans, whether they spoke Latin or Greek, also called the city the "Second Rome."
When Constantinople fell to the Turks in 1453, Russians thought of Moscow as the "Third Rome." It is not just by chance that the Russian Tsars were Romanovs. (The word Tsar comes from the Latin Caesar.)
Russian messianism always saw its mission in the world as the defender of Christianity. That mission became atheistic and Communist after the Bolshevik revolution in 1917. With the fall of the Soviet Union, Russians are seeking a new mision in the world. I think it quite possible that they may go back to their roots as the "Third Rome" and the defender of Christianity, or at the very least a Slovophil/East European culture worthy of preservation and defense against destruction and disintegration by the onslaught of Islam from the south and encroachment of China from the east.
Don't discount the Russians to defend their country and culture. They many turn out to be an ally after all.
