I'm surprised it was even a referendum. Denver was already a very forgiving city in terms of marijuana use. Here in Boise, they'll book you. In Denver, they'll give you a ticket, and send you on your way, like any minor traffic infraction.

Let them have it. It really is a drain on resources to find, and prosecute marijuana users.

Make it legal and go find real criminals.

I've always wondered why it was illegal to begin with. Why should we incarcerate people for wanting to laugh and eat Doritos?

Already posted. Many made the usual to be expected weed jokes, doing their best to denigrate anyone who doesn't agree with them on this issue.

Democrats won seven seats in the Colorado House, and one in the state Senate, to grab a majority in both chambers for the first time since 1960.

And why are we surprised that drug legalization followed? Let the barbarians in and why are we surprised that barbarian activity occurs. I pray that the dems will not be able to control what they started and that it will accelerate exceedingly to it's logical conclusion.

Congratulations on the most bizarre post of the year.
Marijuana smokers=Barbarians? Get a grip. Your post is evidence of actual lunacy.
And what is this "logical conclusion" of which you speak? Armageddon and the destruction of Western Civilization as we know it?
Or, Legalization and a reduction in costs of police manpower and of the product itself; a redirection of police resources toward real crimes; and a reduction in the number of things one group of self-designated superior people holds over another (just as we have anti-smoking Nazis, we have anti-pot Nazis and they cost billions of dollars in needless enforcement every year. Just to satisfy their bluenose needs.)
