It is a sad reflection on all Americans what William Jefferson Clinton did to the Serbian people in our name. Sadder still is the realization that if he were able to run for president again he might very well be elected.
------
Sickeningly true. And this criminal, impeached reprobate never did ANYTHING during his reign of terror, that did not benefit him politically. (nothing except chasing skirts, that is).

Clinton did the ordering, but you can also blame McCain.
And Charles Krauthammer and Bill Kristol, who provided a lot of "intellectual" ammunition.
Actually, without McCain and these writers, I doubt Albright, Biden could have talked Clinton into doing this. But the "neo cons" gave Clinton a lot of ideological cover.
And this is a big reason why I dislike Krauthammer (and Kristol) and aim a slam at him when his articles are posted. He's done a lot of damage.

Wasn't Madeleine Albright at least half Serb herself? A Serb friend of mine said that pretty much all Serbs see her as a traitor to her own roots.

What we did in Kosovo is a disgrace! The Serbs were in engaged in their own War on Terror and we sided with the terrorists and destroyed the Christian population of an ancient Christian land. We share the guilt in every church that has been burned, every monastery that's been burned and looted and every nun raped and monk murdered. I have more than enough reasons to despise Bill Clinton but for me Kosovo tops the list.

McVain provided cover wrapping this sorry episode in the flag and uttering patriotic bromides about it at every opportunity. He had a lot of company though with Repubs who like 'law and order' conservatives can't ever think that police act like criminals and the criminal justice system contains many lazy, ruthless, power hungry cads couldn't imagine circumstances when the USAF was bombing someone that they wouldn't cheer and wave the flag.
Krauthammer appeared to see the Serbs as Nazis reborn and 'ethnic cleasing' (practiced by all parties) to be the Serbian equivalent of the implementation of the 'final solution'. Thus historical memory can trump rationality among even clear eyed observers.

The author of this article is a friend of a friend - thanks for posting. FWIW I still don't understand this chapter of American history. And then the chinese embassy bombing because the maps were out of date? Even curiouser still.

During a meeting of Madeleine Albright with the all-male NATO ministers, she asked the question, "Well gentleman, do we make love or do we make war?" Of course, the answer was unanimously for war.
Of course they would opt for war....anything but see Ms. Albright naked.

We are still complicit. I though W would quite supporting that kangaroo court at the Hague.
The proceedings in the trial convinces me Milosevic deserves a metal.
