I would never believe this, except for the credibility of the source.

By his "Jesus" remark, Saul Landau sounds anti-Christian....which is why the Bush haters hate Bush...because he's a Christian.

The nation has endured drunken Presidents, like Ulysses Grant and Warren Harding. But a "dry drunk?" Dr. Katherine Van Wormer, co-author of Addiction Treatment: A Strengths Perspective, applied this term to Bush, meaning he stopped drinking but still thinks constantly about relieving his anxiety with alcohol (Counterpunch Jan. 22, 2003).The Enquirer and Counterpunch?!?!? Please with this junk!

It seems highly believeable to me that someone who's been dry for 19 years would keep whisky ready at hand.

it was probably sarcasm)

I doubt it. If it's true, Bush needs our prayers because he is under unrelenting attack. If it's not true, which is more likely, Bush needs our prayers because he is under unrelenting attack.

This formula won him two elections, placed the gutless Democrats on the defense and secured the stupid male vote, the dumbos who adore Dr. Laura and Rush Limbaugh and vote against their own interests. Since people can't be trusted to vote their own interests, its better to never offer them that choice. Thats why Cuba is the true democracy, and the US is but a sham.
I think I got that right...

He poured himself a Texas-sized shot of straight whiskey and tossed it back. The First Lady was shocked and shouted: Stop, George!.
Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Because the left can't beat their addictions (booze, drugs, porn, money) and the President has sworn his off cold-turkey 19 years ago, it kills them. This is because it takes someone of extraordinary will power and character to beat an addiction without a liberal involved (According to them).
Because the President relies on the Lord to help him along the way the left is deeply saddened.
If you haven't already noticed nothing is beyond the left's desperate attempt to destroy the man who irks them on a daily basis...

Sometimes it's hard to tell lately who's laughing and who's serious. This doesn't make me laugh it just ticks me off. It's one thing to disagree with his policies but to continue to bring up this crap just makes my head explode.

Just as many people through intestinal fortitude stop their addiction as do people who rely on support groups.

Good grief!
He talks about Bush's drinking like it was some sot of major battle with alcohol. It never was.
Bush learned over time what many of us do. (the smart ones anyway)
That looking back over your life you discover that every stupid thing you ever did, was the result of having a good time with alcohol.
You have this epiphany that alcohol+human being=stupid and it is as simple as that.
He does not have to avoid alcohol and never touch a drop as this pieceof garbage seems to opine, he need only not return to the mindset that you can't enjoy yourself without it, because that mindset really sucks.
Secondly, this sort of writing is indicative of the liberals who still think that they can somehow beat Bush as he finishes his second term, and will never run for office again.
How silly is that! It is they who need a shot, or at least a prescription for antidepressants.
