Could be the first to land in Syria, too.

I met one of the WWII survivors, he's featured in an interview on part 6 of BoB's. Even after all these years, he gets tears in his eyes talking about the day they liberated that concentration camp.
Maybe they will make a serious series about these newest brave soldiers.

it would be very cool if they did a special connecting those that served during WW2 (before they are gone.) with the newest "band of brothers"

Right now they are going to the Bagdad airport.

One of my good friends is in this unit. He is so excited to be a part of the famous Curahees.

How amazing it would be to be part of the 506th with its history.

Several years ago I was visiting a friends father who had been a Captain and a forward artillery observor in Normandy. On the wall of his living room was a German Karabiner 98k rifle. I asked him about the rifle. He said he and a fellow soldier had entered a building at night in a forward position in a small town. Unbeknown to him, a German soldier was hidden in the rafter above and just as the German soldier pulled the trigger and fired, the fathers fellow soldier shot and killed the German soldier. His fellow soldier gave him the gun as a gift and he always kept it. He said he didn't want to talk about the war, it was so terrible.

I don't know I just read this off of Fox's website tonight and wanted to tell everyone. I've read BOB and got the DVDs. I was hoping someone would post if good old Easy was heading to Iraq. Maybe a Freeper knows....

"Is Easy Company still part of this group? "
Interesting to consider.
The phonetic alphabet has changed, "E" is now "echo" so I wonder if they would refer to Company E as "Echo Company" or the old "Easy Company". I suspect the former would be the case.
Anybody still in want to enlighten me on this, please?

We went to a Bush rally in 2004 and the real Lt. Winters from Band of Brothers introduced President Bush to the crowd. It was awesome.

I met two of these guys in an airport - I have their yearbook from their last year in Iraq on my harddrive.
Bought them a bunch of beer, of course.

If I know the Army, it will be officially "Echo" and referred to as "Easy"!

Thanks... i wish that it would still be there... having that courageous history and exploits i think it would be appropriate to keep this company in the Army.
But with no "Captain Sobo" and more of Sgt. Winters and Bull :-)
