It's kids with a head filled with bad wiring and too much TV time. No race has a corner on that market.

You are probably right; but I was thinking education wise.

In my misspent youth I was on the fringes of the music business.

These days I find myself 'with the band.' Now that's kinda odd....

So, you're like a guy Pam Des Barres?
Music and movie biz in the 70s and 80s = guys with huge appetites and unlimited money. We won't be seeing that again any time soon.

I'm the witty, smart guy with the band who dates the vocalist/bass player, all the girls in the band like also, but I get in trouble with her if any of her friends laugh at my jokes too hard.
Galpal is sole arbiter of what 'laughing too hard' is.
I don't get it, either. But I let it slide. :-)

Things you need to learn how to say (with feeling)when managing a girlfriend's band.
Baby, I do what I need to do for us.
Baby, don't you trust me?
Please, just sign it, I promise, it's a standard agreement. All boilerplate.
Now aren't you glad you're not into that scene.

I wonder where Lisa Brown was raised? The article doesn't say. City girl or country girl? Sounds like her NY husband told her glowing stories of the Utopia that is Brooklyn. Ha!
She traded a small town environ for doo-doo & winos on the sidewalks, massive traffic, gangs, & cramped, expensive housing. God, I know people in Brooklyn whose daily ritual is finding a parking spot near their house. That's Utopia for sure.
Poor kids! They traded camping out, swimming in the creek, & riding their bikes to school for the savagery of big city schools & neighborhoods. The shock must have been enormous! The bikes were probably stolen the first week in town.
As for mommy dearest, I suspect she is getting a good dose of the ugly side of the multicultural coin. There is hope for her, but her delusion still shows in her belief that the system will protect her kids. NOT!
And that social worker husband of hers is gonna be a real problem when the rest of the family votes to move back to Oklahoma!

Yes, you give good and wise counsel!
But for what it's worth, I use "Baby, I do what I need to do for us," & "Baby, don't you trust me?" routinely in other contexts! ;-)

Black racism has been tolerated by the Board of Ed. in Fun City since the Ocean hill brownsville strike in '68. Even Rudy couldn't make headway with the Board of Ed. It's sort of like "Reconstruction" was in the South.
