I don't know the questions you asked, since I didn't follow your sojourn on the boards yesterday. More to the point, I have no interest in your questions. The tone of what you wrote in the one post to which I responded was all I need to know.
By the way "I AM TOM EAKER," I took up your invitation to Google your name. It seems someone here on FR wants to get you on the ballot for the Texas governor's race. Excuse me a minute while I stop laughing...
OK, now that I have, perhaps it might be worthwhile to point out that anything you write here on FR can be printed and sent to any Texas newspaper and TV outlet. So you might want to keep your, ahem, frustrations more in check if you have serious political ambitions.
You just went ballistic at my response to it.
And I agree with Wolfstar. If you have any political ambitions, you'd better start accepting responsibility for your own words and behavior.
Nobody wants a whining, finger-pointing, name-calling coward to represent them in public office.
And it's all right here in black and white.
Most Grand Slam hitters have a high stike out ratio in situations as the one you created, ie; Kingman, Jackson, Sosa, Mcguire, Thomas, ect...
I'll take a Ripken 'gapper' or a 'shot down the line' to clear the bases and go for the tie. After all, we do have 'last bats'. Plenty of time to win the game when the momentum is in our favor. Patience.
What I've learned is that poor J needs a better scriptwriter......or at the very least a better sense of humor.
That attempt at being clever was perhaps sorriest thing I've seen on FR (and I'll bet he stayed up all night 'composing' it, and is patting himself on the back because he thinks it was soooo funny).
As for J's learning something............I seriously doubt it. That would take active brain waves. :)
I'd love to wash my hands of "The Bickerings" here, but I can't let them get away with bashing POTUS and smearing his nominee, all the while claiming that "they're the base and that they're owed better."
I must be slipping a little... I can usually spot the doom & gloomers three threads away.
Ditto, onyx. With some of the blind attacks against Harriet Miers here (and the President, of course), I am amazed that any of the doom and gloomers really think that they're better than anybody.
I look at a person's character to determine what I think about him or her. And I see character in the President, and very little, if any in those who hate him. And yet they think they're superior.
It's an amazing phenomenon, onyx.
This nutjob has political ambitions? LOLOL
Well, we can derail those in a heartbeat. Just save those posts he made last night to you about the president and he's finished. No matter which party he runs for.
Perhaps he now regrets that what he said is NOT anonymous.............or perhaps he is not quite that bright.
LOL. Not bright or unbalanced. And the evening really seems to bring the worst out in some people.
But those who reveal a visceral hatred for him (and thus on those of us who support him), have serious problems.
Most of them are democrats, but a few..........fortunately a very few.........of them are on the extreme right.
At any rate, they use the same words, and are indistinguishable one from the other. I would find it extremely disturbing if I aligned myself with the left, but the 'purists' seem to be proud of it.
I usually attribute evening rage to drinking, but if that's the cause in this case, he was drinking all day long.....
Haven't waded through all the posts here but it looks like President Bush is interested in a grand compromise, offering as his choice a woman who most likely will rule in favor of homosexuals but also in favor of the death penalty and abortion limits. Bush must figure that's good enough. Re her sexual preferences, whatever.
I am firmly against alternative marriages but my reasons are for national security. Legally allowing males to return from overseas with immigrant males as spouses is a really really stupid thing to do.
I have just hit abuse on a truly vile post. The mods are great! It's deleted.
I only went back a few posts and didn't see it was going on all day! A few posts was enough to convince me he has "issues".
To wit:
"Punishment of wrongdoers should be swift and sure. Only then can the criminal justice system serve as an effective deterrent."
Harriet Miers
That's good enough for Bush apparently.
Try skipping over the trollish comments and look for facts to those assertions. You won't find any
Of all the arguments made about this woman, this is the most vacuous one.
I just cannot understand where the snobbery of that response comes from.
not really. what I read indicates she's an fully indoctrinated Texan, uncompromising on staying tough with criminals and willing to review abortion law. and she's not a traditional family person which should thrill the party of strangeness.
She's pretty perfect for a weakened President to get confirmed.
I agree on the mods. What a great job they do!
