Mayor More Convinced Than Ever Terror Threat Is Real!!!

Mayor Michael Bloomberg is standing by his decision to go public with the news of a potential terror threat on the city’s subway system on Sunday, saying officials have become more convinced over the last couple of days that the information was real.

State and local authorities learned of the threat in a memo issued by the Department of Homeland Security Wednesday and made public by the Associated Press on yesterday that said the planned attack was set for Sunday.

On Thursday, the city went public with the threat that terrorists planned to use timed or remote-controlled explosives hidden in briefcases, suitcases, and under strollers. The memo says the attack might be carried out by operatives, "who may be in the New York City area.”

Despite warnings from officials in Washington D.C. that the threat was not credible, Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told the public about the alleged plot to smuggle explosives onto the subway system.

The mayor says at the end of the day, he's the one in charge of keeping New Yorkers safe.

“They have their views, but we have to make the decision,” said the mayor. “Its easy to analyze and say this is possible, that’s possible, but when it gets down to the level of a city, we've got to make a decision.”

The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement Saturday saying its director, Michael Chertoff, “Respects the mayor's judgment and believes that the security precautions being taken by Mayor Bloomberg and other New York officials are absolutely an appropriate response while this and other intelligence information continues to be examined and analyzed. The secretary also shares the mayor's view that the benefit of the doubt should be placed on the side of caution."

So far three suspects have been arrested in connection with the alleged plot, all of them in Iraq. Sources say authorities are investigating whether a fourth man traveled to New York as part of the scheme.

Security remains high in the city as a result of the threat, with police say officers are now conducting more random searches of backpacks, bags and baby strollers, as well as more subway car sweeps.

Officers from the NYPD "Atlas Team" will also be part of the security detail in the Bronx tonight when the Yankees take on the Los Angeles Angels in Game Four of the American League Division Series.

Members of the counter-terror squad will be sweeping trains bound for the game as well as patrolling the area around the stadium.

Thanks granny. I will be watching for more info. on the Ukraine and UK incidents. I just can't imagine what these families are going through. I would think with somewhat modern processes, even in these areas this type of poisoning would not occur. Upon hearing that it happened in the Ukraine, I thought immediately of the poisoning of their president.

I just woke up so need more coffee.

About 7 years ago, I began to hear about dead and missing
scientists. Heavy numbers on the biohazard cures types, but also in tropical diseases and other fields.

They disappear, they fall over brideges, leaving car parked on bridge. They get shot, an amazing number of them have a tree fall on them.

Last year one of the Freepers, Dr. Gene Mallove (sorry that is the wrong spelling I think) was killed by being beat to death on the east coast, in a house he owned.

The one that was said to have jumped off the bridge, there were several odd things that happened to people working on the case, the corner being one.

On some of the tinfoil sites, they have lists of the dead scientists, the strange thing is that those scientists, I have listened to reports on, one by one as they died.

Several thousand are missing from Russia, Iraq, Pakistan, they have vanished.

Some of the missing were with Kadafy, working on his bio and nuclear programs, some may be in North Korea, some are in Iran. There are reports that they are kept in camps and can't get away.

We know they exist, as many were trained in the U.S.

We had a scientist show up here a year or so ago, that is one of the questions I asked him ane his reply was about like this "They do not know who to work for, and I do, so I am safe." He can be googled, dr. Gaia. follow his chat room posts. Or he was in google last year.

Art Bell was on it for several years, I don't listen to the new CtoC program very often, but Noory may have continued it.

For a while, they were being killed, one or two a week, and when they are beat to death, you can't say it was an accident.

I do not the answer, Davey Crockett has also kept an eye out and so have other TMer's, it is still going on.

That alert that I set at google, is not a good one, it rarely pulls anything worth reading.

The tinfoils site lists, are useful for the names that can then be googled for the real reports on them.

It is still going on. That is why you see pings to me, when someone sees another death.

Opinion:

I listen to talk radio, stations in the west, left and right. I have learned to spot the "Talking Point of the Day", and have found them on the communist websites.

We have all heard Rush talk about the "talking Point of the day", I thought he was nuts, until I started hearing them.

Fridays's talking point goes about like this, I have heard
the same caller on every show for the past 2 days, on stations in 3 states.

His message is that "there is no bird flu, it is all a plot by Bush, he is just going to take control and put in Martial Law".

He is a doctor, I have heard him call KDWN and the other stations for years, and he sent proof to one of the hosts.

He is also not to be believed, as he is for legal marijuana, and calls to the point that the hosts will cut him off.

Dr. richard, was also one of the "it was only sex" for clinton.

"so what?" you are thinking, the bad part is the little old ladies and the men, the ones that I know the voices for the anti- America messages, are joining in the cry and saying the exact same words, the commie talking points.

We know that the bird flu is real, it is all in the ProMed files, with more each day.

Now it has come out that the 1918 flu is related to the bird flu.

My granddaughter phoned me early this morning, she wanted to know what it meant when the news said that "the Atlanta Lab
had plague" and didn't know what to do, she wasn't sure if it escaped or what....maybe she was talking about those rats that went missing, from the tests, she wasn't sure.

We are under full bio alert, all over the country.

I guess what I am trying to say is, "beware, the left is twisting the danger and attempting to stop the vaccine and the military being used", they are going to be a danger to the country and hold their protests and spread the disease up and down the country.

Jim Dallas Host on KDWN in Las Vegas, who tries to be a good American, is saying today that the OU bomber tried 4 times to get in the stadium.

The callers are all asking him what he is talking about, they never heard about it.

One of the reasons the left is going to use for not getting the flu shot, is that the Gov is going to put micro chips in the flu shots, so they can track us, I have heard this several times this weekend......C to C did a program on this subject, it is on the anti-American sites.......

Either I am nuts or need more coffee and less radio.

I just don't understand the disconnect between DHS and NYC officials. According to this article, they arrested 3 bomb makers in Iraq. Why is DHS downplaying this?
