I have a couple of those.. they have links on each end & can make a lead or leash longer. They are primarily used in stores/checkout areas. they are the "gate".. closed when the line in not open in our stores. Our one store had them in closeouts for 1.99. I got a couple. Wish I had gotten a lot more. Very versatile with the doggies.
BTW.. you are very observant!!! off for a few more hours
