Can you fix the heading for the correct location of the accident?

Mile marker 46 on 185 Northbound not I-10

Do you have a followup on this? I cannot find anything on the internet about it.

Mile marker 46 on 185 Northbound

That would be a lot closer to Newnan than it would to LaGrange. About to the Atlanta suburbs.

Wonder if the driver was an illegal Mexican like the Houston evac bus tragedy?

Well, the story has the wrong road and the wrong bus company, but other than that it is accurate. Posts that tried to correct it to I-85 also appear to have been wrong.

Here's the story:

"Driver critical, soldiers hurt in bus crash A bus carrying 41 soldiers to Ft. Benning crashed into a tree off Interstate 185 just south of LaGrange about 9:15 p.m. Thursday."

It appears that the driver was the only one with serious injuries.

but please pray it is not a bus full of soldiers from Ft. Benning

You had it pegged. 41 soldiers headed for Benning on I-185 just south of the I-85 split. Fortunately, none of the soldiers seem badly hurt, although the driver apparently was.

Driver critical, soldiers hurt in bus crash
He was critical, but stable at the scene and flown by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center, said Robert Firestone, local operations manager for American Medical Response ambulance service.
Fifteen soldiers were injured, but only five required treatment at West Georgia Medical Center. They had “minor to moderate” injuries, Firestone said.
Those who didn’t go to the hospital were taken in wheelchair vans to the sheriff’s office to await an Army bus.
Firestone was in Newnan en route to Gulfport, Miss., to assist with hurricane relief efforts when he heard about the accident on his scanner and rushed to the scene to direct medical operations.
“The Army guys did real well helping out with the rescue,” he said.
Sheriff’s deputies also responded and the State Patrol was investigating the accident.
The soldiers were going to boot camp or advanced infantry training at Ft. Benning, Firestone said, adding, “It was about half and half, judging from the haircuts.”

The call came out as a greyhound bus crash...I wonder if the buses are used for contracting?

I had a bad feeling when I heard this might be on I-185. Thank you both for the updates.

My boyfriend was on that bus. No joke...he called me from the police station the night it happened. He was really freaking out. So I'm guessing it was pretty bad. He said that the bus was going about 80mph down the highway when it blew a tire. But I'm not sure if thats really what happened or what...but thats what he said. I haven't heard from him since that night, so I'm really hoping he's ok.
