So what was the motive for the attendant and the marshall to harm the plane?

Money. They want $50 million.

(That and they're probably former Halliburton employees just looking for a kick like the old days.)

Sounds like a cool movie to me. Saw a short sneak preview. Not every terrorist has to be an Arab and I don't see this as a smear against flight attendants or air marshals.

It would seem to me that Hollywood has decided not only that Arabs "can't" be terrorists, but that we must be tricked into believing that there's an alternate reality where we would have reason to see all passengers of a plane as equally potential terrorists.

I won't see this movie because I hate being preached to.

For me "cool" requires the absence of an obvious PC agenda.

I don't see any obvious "pc agenda" here. It's just an action thriller. And I like Jodie Foster.

I feel your priorities are a bit skewed. If you wish to be civil, I am happy to listen to your explanation of why this movie is evil, however.

Oh, please. Because some flight attendants were brave and murdered by terrorists, all flight attendants permanently out of bounds? They must all be portrayed as virtuous and perfect at all times?

It's fiction. Fiction.

Presidents have been murdered while in office. Does that mean that we can't ever portray a President as corrupt in fictional stories? That's nonsense.

If the film is saying that all flight attendants are corrupt, or are murderers, then you would have a point. But to never allow a member of a new "protected class" to be portrayed as anything less than virtuous? That's just silly.

This movie was dead before it started.

The star of the movie is NOT jodie foster, it seems this is really a 90 minute commercial for an airplane that has YET to have a commercial flight. (we can make fun of Airbus's white elephant elsewhere)

My only problem is with the completely asinine plot. No one in their right mind would kill someone just so they can smuggle explosives onto a plane in their coffin. The motive? Supposedly these half wits think they can extort 50 million by holding the plane for ransom.

There is a reason airplanes aren't hijacked by people expecting to get away with it anymore. Thats because they never do. Even countries like Cuba and North Korea will capture and turn over hijackers. There is no safe place these people could fly to in order to enjoy their ill gotten millions. The whole concept is idiotic.

The writers and producers of this movie have got to be mentally retarded. The only people who will enjoy this movie are those who don't care if the plot is illogical and stupid.

I did go see the penguins

We have a quandry here.

It may just be me, but penguins look a lot like the Republican Guard black pajamas.

Also, I don't recall any penguins voting for President Bush.

However, George Clooney supported Kerry. He played Batman. Batman fought the Penguin.

So, you could go with the old adage, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Then, going to see penguins would be ok.

I don't doubt that movies, tv, music and anything else you might want to name has an agenda.

I educate myself and then can enjoy entertainment as entertainment. I personally know that if I got upset over every comment by a celeb or by every conservative bash in a movie I would be a miserable person. My soul would be more corrupted by bile and anger than by the pc nonsense. It's my view, you don't have to share it, of course.

That's why this stuff rolls off my back.
