"Anyway, I remember FoxNews interviewing two tourists, one from Australia and one from England. They were very upbeat and optimistic about how things were going to go once they got inside."
I saw the same interview and just remember the young male, 20ish, with a backpack, smiling. After reading what horrors were going on in the dome, I thought about him. I googled "Australian tourists, Katrina" and found some interesting stories. One said that he was alright. I was so happy to see that.
Yep, the group from the UK told a similiar story. Whites were threatend and racial slurs were made.
Because the minority was the majority.
Thank you for all your hard work!
Well, the story of a soldier being shot by a looter was also in the briefing from the NG general. For one thing. And that officer described the situation inside the Dome as violent and lawless.

One of may comments was removed. I don't understand why. Goodbye, all!
I know. So damn sad.
I am very embarrassed at the image American's are projecting across the world with these lawless thugs in NO.
The vermin living in the inner cities have been an embarisment to the US for a long time.
"Our women" is in the title of the original article. Articles are posted with their original titles in order to avoid duplicate posts.
Actually, the new anti-rape tampon should have been issued to each female entering the SD.
An interesting and revealing post. Thank you.
I shudder to think in what shelter these gang members are now.
"The atmosphere was extremely intimidating, the Lancaster University student said. People stared at us all the time and men would come up to me and stroke my stomach and bottom. They would also say horrible, suggestive things. The worst time came when there was a rumour that a white man had raped a black woman. We were scared that we would be raped, robbed, or both. People were arguing, fighting and being arrested all the time.
The internationals, as the army labelled the stranded tourists, were among the few white people in the stadium. Marked out by their skin colour and unfamiliar accents, they were verbally abused, while their luggage made them targets for robbery. "

SSG Garland Ogden stepped up to the plate!
LOL!
Sickening!
Before the aftermath of Katrina, I was lamenting the fact that I'd never been to Mardi Gras in the French Quarter. Now I consider myself fortunate.
Minority were armed. Minority were leaders of gangs and therefore those with the strongest personalities and aura of power. And they enjoyed wielding it.
I wondered that myself until I realized an armed thug willing to kill, experienced in killing will lord over weaker souls.
