Thank you for your service, Sky Pilot. When you are trying your best in one of the worse situations in our Country's history you try not to take commentary personally. But it has to be almost an impossible task.

As for me, I'm sitting in the Midwest, high and dry. We've opened our wallet and our prayer vigil, but that nothing like being on the front lines.

However, I do believe things are looking better in NO. The Feds are NOT putting up with the gangs.

I pray that the good people of NO find a future that offers them an opportunity to live in a City that isn't ridden with gang and political crime. In American cities that offer them economic, social and educational opportunities for their families.

As for as the criminals of NO, I pray they receive their just punishment.

Fellow summer camp worker Sarah Yorston, 21, who also rode out the hurricane inside the Superdome, said she witnessed "total chaos and devastation".

"These people have lost everything and they are just desperate people doing desperate things."

Another Briton, Marisa Haigh, said international tourists stranded in the Superdome had stuck together for safety.

"White tourists were getting picked on, we gathered all the British and international survivors," Haigh was reported as saying in Britain's News of the World newspaper.

"I'd heard stories about girls getting raped inside the dome.

Some were told they'd get their legs broken if they didn't get out because the masses were scared there wasn't enough food to go round," Haigh reportedly said.

"A lot of people were homeless drug addicts. Their drugs were confiscated, so lots of them were wandering around in a terrible state."

Other Britons described the atmosphere inside the Superdome as intimidating and told of witnessing violent confrontations.

I think there are enough horror stories being told to know that it was very bad in the Superdome.

Too bad the roof of the Terrordome didn't collapse after the foreigners were evacuated. On the other hand, lets spend more on the nation's welfare program in the hope of turning New Orleans' scumbags from a life of thuggery and rape.

I read articles like this all last week, and yet I see footage of these same evacuees at the shelter at Baton Rouge and the Astrodome, and there are a lot of children, loving mothers, older women and religious, God-fearing men.

I've been feeling the same disconnect. I think there were lots of rumors flying around in a stressful, scary situation like that, with no outside news. I'm sure they were some bad apples but some of the stories, particularly in the overseas media but also in our own, have been hysterically over the top. "Rapes!! Murders!! Mayhem!!" and then you see all the people being evacuated from the Superdome and they look like women, children, families, elderly...

There was an article yesterday in a British paper along those lines. He was hearing "Mad Max"-style horror stories about the Convention Center and then he went in there (while all the people were still there) and it was nothing like that. Just tired, hungry people waiting for help.

I'm sure there's been some crime but it seems to me some of the media has been broadcasting hysteria and rumor.

Petronski, you tell me then since your playing hall monitor...how does one sit back and theorize this? I don't want to take the blame and say the human race did this! How do you do it with out involving race? I seriously would like to know. How do you do it? How do the "Lofty" ones do it? The people in NO are out, now we will change to recovering the dead, and rebuilding and reconstitution.

Which is what could have happened days ago if the people of NO had evacuated when they were told.

I am not knowing what you are referring to and probably do not need to.

Those females who do not like firearms, in the past, had "hat pins". I have a few that you could kill a dog with. In the 30's they were called "ice picks". The ones I have are pretty, nice bobs on the end and whatnot. One properly placed could ruin your day... or save your life.
