this cannot be laid at the feet of failed liberal policies

at some point folks have to be held responsible for cultural failures

and for Chrissakes...stop celebrating the failed part....I keep seeing a front cover for Vibe while I'm typing this

that is part of the problem

Cosby and Maya Angelou and others have been Tom-scorned for trying to point out something so friggin obvious

I jumped the gun on this one. The title, after reading articles all day today, just turned me off. Thanks. I know better, than to respond without reading full content. :)

""AMERICA AS A THIRD WORLD NATION""

Not yet, but the Democrats are working at it.

>"NOLA will deploy their evac buses AFTER the storm, not BEFORE. They do this because they do not want to damage the buses. It's about money. No evac buses during IVAN for the elderly or infirm, either. This is negligence and is going to be a major scandal. They save the buses, not the people."

These aren't busses, they're Nagin's Navy docked on Lake Landrieu, commanded by Gov Blanco

Kudos to the hundreds of thousands, if not millions who have sought to help their fellow man through faith in Christ in this hurricane's wake. Of course those who seek to help their fellow man based upon human righteousness independent of God do nothing more than perpetuate problems.

Certain parts of America are third world. Among them are Los Angeles, Detroit, Miami, and the old New Orleans.

"LA under Governor Blanco was a third world country."

IS a third world country under Blanco--IS. Still is.

the photos are powerful and damaging. NOLA helps the needy evacuate after the storm, providing they are still alive. That's like being helped off the train track after the train goes by.

I figure one or two more major disasters on this scale will finally convince America that "secular humanism" (putting your faith in fallen man instead of a Holy God) leads to destruction and misery. Only a relationship with God through Christ has real meaning and everlasting value. Everything else is "vanity and vexation of the spirit".

Luke 6
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

If the threshold for whether a country is third-world or not is whether the citizens depend on the government to solve their problems. America still ranks rather high, since those lily-white scandinavian and western Europeans have more of a nanny state than can be imagined.

Americans have been conditioned to look to the federal government as the answer to all their needs.

unprovable hyperbole alert. let's get real. some people are sniveling victims. some, probably most, are not.

Social Security has, for too many, replaced planning and saving for one’s old age.

Only for idiots. Anyone younger than 55 who thinks they are ever going to see a dime of SSI (unless they are, happily, permanenetly disabled in the next 10 years) is dreaming.

The broader statement should be "the idea of the Federal Government as replaced thinking and planning for anyone with a mental level below a worm (i.e. the Democrat Electorate)."
