No, the discovery channel.... excellent story on the Louisiana Wetlands right now.
Some elderly man was taken off a bus in bad condition. Then there was a death in the Dome. I don't know if it's the same guy.
But I gather the buses aren't air conditioned. Those poor folks...the heat and stench must be enough to cripple most of us.
saw that, send us 25,000 people, oh D'oh! make that 10,000
whatta bunch of buffoons....
i swear, it's a good thing i don't have much faith in humanity, otherwise i'd be real disappointed.
Agree.
The astrodome just quit taking any more people. Too crowded.
good points
That WILL leave a mark.
What is this Red Sun Rising?
That said, please let us end the squabble.
Right now....I just like to find a gas station that actually has gas! Several have run out in Memphis. :( But it's a petty problem....at least I have food, water and a roof over my head.
aren't there other parts of these people's HOME STATE where shelter can be provided?
Reminds me of something I just heard on the WLS-890 Deborah Rowe radio program (see tagline)
What's up with that?
Astrodome will not let any more evacuees into Astrodome.
At 10:30 they were advised by the fire marshall they had reached capacity and so it's been shut down and they are transferring buses to other facilities.
Cop says A/C went out on that bus and so they were moved to another bus (that did have a/c was the unspoken word).
Huh - not quite how CNN was originally reporting that story.
911 happened in 2001 and they are just starting to build where the Towers were. Two buildings, four years. I respect your optimism and NO may rebuild...but, it is going to take a very, very long time (not including a whole new levee system). Where will the trillion dollars come from?
Bless you, my friend.
Hi Pyro. You have not met too many wonderful people here, yet. That is "fixin" to change. Niceness and respect dominate much of the discourse. Rudeness and nastiness are, well, not appreciated.
Exactly.
Houston cop says fire marshall shut down the Astrodome to more evacuees...incoming buses routed to other cities....passengers from unairconditioned bus were transferrred to one with AC.
That's a headline:
THE ASTRODOME IS FULL AND CLOSED
