Wynton Marsalis managed to stay clear. He'll be performing on the upcoming Marathon to raise funds for hurricane relief.
" On Monday afternoon, Domino told his manager, Al Embry of Nashville, that he would ride out the storm at home "
Ain't that a shame ...
Your link goes to a different story.
Prayers going up for the Fat Man - one of the all-time best rockers.
I didn't ever realize that Fats Domino was still alive.

OOPS! Sorry bout that. Thanks for the fix.
Dry and safe, but in not much better shape, is the famous Neville family of New Orleans. Aaron Neville and many members of the family evacuated on Monday to Memphis, where they are now staying in a hotel. But most of the Nevilles homes are destroyed, reports their niece and my colleague at A Current Affair, Arthel Neville. She went down to her hometown yesterday and called me from a boat that was trying to get near town.
This isnt like having two feet of water in your basement, she said, holding back tears. Everything is destroyed. I am just so lucky to have been born here and to have had the experience of New Orleans."
So 'Fats' is now 'Missing' Domino and Al Embry is now 'frantic' Embry.
Seriously though, I hope 'Fats' is OK and not one of the casualties. I always liked him.
This aint good.
I didn't ever realize that Fats Domino was still alive.
He may not be. His house is under water and he hasn't been heard from since Monday. Hope your initial assesment is correct, however.
I found my thrill but lost my Fats Domino.
Why would someone of his means stick around? Seems like he should have the resources to set up in a nice hotel somewhere far from danger.
So sad.
So sorry.
Having a 3 story house is working in his favor, assuming the structure is intact. The reason he hasn't been heard from is the same reason the people there don't realize the scope of the disaster--no electricity, no phones, no TV or Radio. Duh.
