The economy was NEVER booming during the 50s it was stagnant.

It was doing a lot better than the 1930s was it not?

What exactly are you saying, we should only enforce the law when the economy is in a slump? Illegal immigration is a problem all across the country now, we're not in a postion to wait for the next major depression to enforce the laws.

Do you even understand the US Constitution in regards to impeachment? It appears you don't and to call for this without understanding it makes you look foolish.

More personal abuse? One doesn't get to criticize the President here any more, does one? Even for dereliction of duty, or violating his oath of office. Take your ad hominems elsewhere---if GW continues to ignore citizens' concerns about the border and uncontrolled immigration, which are directly related to his refusal to uphold his oath of office by enforcing the immigration laws and defending the borders of the United States, he's courting impeachment.

Hillary would be the next president should the Two STooges plan be implemented. There is no doubt of that and anyone capable of stringing two thoughts together could tell you that.

Presidents cannot create resources out of nothing but must operate within the budgets given them by Congress. Maybe you have hallucinated gigantic increases in the budgets for handling illegals but no one else has. Nor did you address the MAJOR issues raised in the first paragraph.

You keep saying that you aren't defending illegal immigration but then you make comments like:

"if you can't make more than an undocumented ditch-digger, then you're either unmotivated or stupid"

That sort of puts the problem on the ditch-digger rather than on the illegals and those who are responsible for their presence. Why are you ashamed to admit that you are pro-invasion?

Ouch! My eyes hurt from rolling so hard!"""

What exactly is incorrect about Farah's column? If terrorists can get through our open border with weapons of mass destruction, you have no problem with that?

Bush hasn't asked for any, and he hasn't been doing anything with the enforcement resources he has. Instead, he's pushing an amnesty and gigantic increase in immigration that will make all the current problems immigration is causing pale by comparison.

LoL yes it was better.

No I am saying that we cannot patrol the entire border so as to stop illegals without substantial civilian involvement as we saw in Arizona earlier this year which I support. One of the constant statements about America was that there were six thousand miles of unpatrolled borders and it was always said as a matter of pride. The economic aspect I referred to was that during downturns it becomes a greater issue because of the lack of work for citizens not that economic concerns should be linked to law enforcement.

Now we have people almost ready to declare war on Mexico over a problem which is not at the top of our problems not by a long shot. Then there are Idiotic proposals such as this one.

Don't you get tired of peddling LIES? Bush has done as much as he could given the resources available. And you do not have a grasp on the problem, the solution OR Bush's program. And you are utterly CLUELESS wrt the constitution and impeachment. But that's ok since no one takes such nonsense seriously.

I notice that you conveniently cropped off, "and you're not stupid".

That sort of puts the problem on the ditch-digger rather than on the illegals and those who are responsible for their presence.

Exactly. You see, we both object to illegal immigration, but you also object to legal immigration, because what you really object to is competition. Staying in a crap job, moaning about your circumstances, instead of going out and getting a better one, is being a whiner.

Why are you ashamed to admit that you are pro-invasion?

You would also call legal immigrants "invaders". Why are you ashamed to admit that you can't get any job except the lowest-paying, and you're afraid of competition?

Why don't you move to Mexico instead of whining about those who prefer a common language ( English ) in this country?

That's an idiotic statement. English is the official language. If you're saying that speaking Chinese in chinatown, French in cajun areas, and German in Amish areas, should all be banned, then you're loco en la cabeza, or you've had muy, muy mucho cerveza.

I'd say I agree in Thai, but my mom-in-law isn't around to translate.

I'd say I agree in Korean, but my daughter-in-law isn't around to translate.

Guess you'll just have to take my sorry American twang to mean, "Ah agree."

Like I said, the "genie's out of the bottle." We'll see just who "takes it seriously" in the months ahead---especially after GW tries to dump his "guest worker plan" amnesty proposal on Congress this fall.

Now we have people almost ready to declare war on Mexico over a problem which is not at the top of our problems not by a long shot.

If you talk to people in the border states they'd probably see it differently than you. When I lived in Arizona back in the 1980s it was obviously a problem then so I can only imagine what it's like now.

Would I impeach Bush over it no but if there's another terrorist attack and they came through the open border the calls for one will be loud. We might even possibly see it happen.

It is outrageous that hordes of illegal aliens are roaming across the country, committing horrible crimes, terrorizing citizens, and yet many of our officials insist on special perks for these criminals.

I will wager you right now that the ONLY ones endorsing impeachment (which you do not understand) within the next year will be crackpots like Pat the Hater, Farah, Medea B., Cindy and the Looney Left. No serious patriot will take it seriously. There would not be 10 votes in the House should such nonsense even make it out of committee. Ten bucks that NO such bill makes it out of committee.

I know it is the fondest dream of the Bush haters that there be such an attack. They drool at the idea. But a practical evaluation tells anyone that it won't happen for numerous reasons. Such an attack from the North is FAR more likely.

It's more up to Bush and what he does about the border and immigration than anyone else. No one on the Right would be broaching the subject---and Bush and Chertoff wouldn't be reacting right now with promises to "defend the borders"---if anger over Bush's dereliction of duty on the borders wasn't reaching the boiling point.

Bush is getting fair warning from many people who voted for him... get these borders, both of them under control BEFORE there's another attack.

Anger generally militates against rationality. This thread is a case in point. Completely irrational.
