Bouy 42040
This buoy has stopped reporting wave height. Last report that it did have that was just under 40 foot waves.
This buoy is in deep water.
Weather Channel has storm surge figures, and I hope they are wrong. I have seen those levees -- but they are saying 20 to 25 feet for the storm surge.
Storm seems to be heading a little to the East of New Orleans. But it may not be far enough East.

Decided to get some sleep while I could. Real high winds. Real dark so it's hard to see but I imagine a lot of trees are swaying. My dad saw a transformer blow up in the distance. Right then my neighbor who has WST electric lost their lights.
The RT powering the DSL uses WST so I imagine by sunrise my internet will be down.
The weather looks realy ugly and I imagine it'll be several times worse in about 12 hours.
