University of Pennsylvania Archaeologists Return to Iran after 26 Years
http://www.payvand.com/news/05/aug/1221.html
Good post. Thanks.
It was my pleasure. The nice thing about the U of Penn archaeologists' going back to Iran after 26 years is, they can go on record as critical of US policy toward Iran. That's the one and only reason for them to be going to a country about to destroy one of the most important archaeological sites in the Middle East, and obviously of its own history.
if only there were something to motivate the UN and the nations of the world to take action against the mullahcracy which usurped power in Iran...
World Heritage Site -- Persepolis
"Persepolis" was added to Unesco's World Heritage List in 1979

I noticed that Payvand has a link to "All the Shah's Men", a book which predictably blames the CIA for the international terrorism movement -- something that owes it origins entirely to Joseph Stalin and his hoodlum successors.
Read about Torquemada, a Catholic priest, and tell me that Christians couldn't be characterized the same way.
The Mullahs' time will come. Their future holds a short rope and a long drop at the hands of their suffering and oppressed people.
A country or culture that does not remember or honor its past has no future.
No, the destruction of such beautiful ruins requires them to die in a much more painful way...or so I think. ;)
Sometimes I wonder why we haven't just nuked Mecca and Medina by now... :-P
"hounds" ia the fourth word. my argument is that arabs are people and not dogs. if this writer wants to be taken seriously as a historian in the modern world, he should write like one.
as an opinion piece, i have no quarrell. the author has made his opinion very clear and everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts.
It's time for the Qom Bomb!
