I was driving to the grocery store Monday night and was listening to Rush late at night. When he gave this speech, I was in awe. It was extemporaneously given and it was the most powerful monologue I've heard in a long, long time. I was shouting "Amen & Hallelujah" when it was over.

Impressive rant, but Rush neveer answered the guy's question. Why DON'T more CEO's politicians, etc. have kids in uniform? A few do, but most don't. No matter what your position on the war, that's a valid question IMHO.
It's easy to put a yellow magnet on your car and say "I support the troops." But for too many people that's as far as it goes.

I would like to see Congree supporting our military the way they support bans on oil drilling, animal life (EPA garbage), abortion on demand, sodomite rights, etc.
The US Constitution makes defense of the country a mandate of the federal government. Nose-wiping is not. How they fulfill that mandate is open to debate. We have had a draft. Many in WWII did not want to serve. Many were unable to serve. But we got the job done.
It is fallacious to say that the federal officials' children must serve over there. They would be prime bait for the decapitating terrorists. Nice ransome money. Or just show Jenna's head rolling off. That would show great patriotism and common sense on our side.
Rush's statements were great. I imagine he did prepare them somewhat, but he is quite eloquent even in casual remarks.
Because it is a VOLUNTEER ARMY, and one shouldn't be pushed into joining the service just because their parents are politicians or CEO's.
