Excellent.
The FairTax is an idea whose time has come.
Nothing short of a revolution will bring about ANY sort of real tax reform. Ever.
GPB, Thanks for the post.
AG: The tide is coming in!
I have long contended that the quickest and easiest way to tax revolt is to end withholding. If people actually had to write a check for their owed taxes the world would change virtually overnight.
Already posted and not really breaking news.
Is it available in audio format yet?
You won't write a check with this plan. It's a "national sales tax" -- levied on purchases. And it's not individual excise taxes, but a federal sales tax across the board.
I searched "Boortz" and "fair tax" and "linder" and didn't see it. Sorry for the double post.

This is put up or shut up time for those now in office. If they continue to choose to represent special interests instead of their constituents, there will be a revolution at the ballot box & they won't be in office any more. This applies to both major parties.

And have the employee actually pay the "employer's"
portion of the FICA (which we do, but it's hidden).
A revenue-neutral FairTax will have a rate high enough to
get people's attention, and increase outrage at pork
(like the recent highway bill) and subsidies to
anti-American institutions (like the UN, NPR, PBS,
and 87% of charities).
Works for me, and I'm really keen on eliminating the
need for us to be a nation of tax accountants. It
seriously impairs our national competiveness in the
world market.
Question does the fair tax get rid of all the taxes or just the ones on your check. I.E. phone tax, gas tax, etc. etc. etc..
LET'S ROLL!
I KNOW I saw it earlier, but I can't find it neither. Oh well.
I know that. I was responding to post that a revolution is needed to get any real tax reform. And my solution to the problem of their not being one is to end withholding and tax reform would happen faster than one could imagine.
So what? They aint gonna chnage a gull dam thing period!!!
Does anyone think the polititions will cave as long as they have the money making machine they have now?
This period from the early 1900s till now will go down as the greatest theft of peoples hard earned money EVER, in the history of the world!!
I want to ask this..if the witholding tax was repealed in 1944 by congess, then why is it still in force?
If the same 1 million people that bought the book decided to not file a tax return on April 15th that might get some attention.
It actually was repealed and reinstituted several times. The last action being the reinstitution of it obviously.
What I want to know is how is our war with Spain going? I haven't heard any reports from the front lately and frankly I am nervous we may be in a quagmire.
What? Were not at war with Spain? Then why am I paying a tax on my phone to pay for the Spanish-American war?
There is one thing and one thing only politicians like more than their currently money making, vote buying scheme known as the tax code. And that is their job.
Only through the election of those who support the NRST and the defeat of those opposed to it will it happen. If politicians start seeing anti-NRST politicians losing on election day they will switch to supporters to keep their cushy jobs.
