Morning everyone,

I was thinking about the Gaza settlers this morning, most of which have lived there for 30+ years. I'm not an expert on their politics but I think they would have been better off with Netanyahu as PM. JMO

I also wonder when the day will come when American's are physically forced off their land in the southwest. Many are voluntarily fleeing as we speak, even from big cities because of the illegal crime and grime. The saddest thing about all of it is that the taxpayer foots the bill eventually for all of them.

I just keep wondering what the cost of fuel would be if we didn't have millions of people here illegally??

"Italy, the subject of several Internet threats from purported Islamic militant groups, said it had begun expulsion procedures against 701 people."

701 more sent to someone else to make it their problem.

That's an intersting article Ruth.

So, if I read it correctly the granite came from Georgia already with the dynamitee.

"The dynamite apparently was brought to Springfield inside the slab from a quarry in Georgia, Hawley said."

I mean it's just not everyday that you misplace your stick of dynamite.

I wonder if we shouldn't have done this a few years ago!

I'm glad they're doing something but it could be like closing the barn door after the horse is gone, or in for this case.

I will admit that it is hard to see the reason why TPTB do not close the borders/get serious about illegal immegrants. It is clear they want the illegals here. And I agree, the cheap labor can't be the only reason. It may be cheaper for some businesses and employers, but it socks taxpayers and the cities and states who bear the brunt of the wave.

There has to be another reason. There's also the politcs of buying voter blocks, and that's bad enough. Bush and the GOP better step up to the plate with this or they're going to find a lot of loyal voters won't be able to stomach voting for them next time. Just an observation.

Thanks for the ping Cindy.

I wonder since these were mini bombs if it was kids or some whacko that didn't like his dinner or the book he bought?

In either case, I hope they find whoever did it.

I had to read the article several times, it looks as though the rock was drilled and the dynamite put into it, as part of the mining operation, but that stick did not explode.

It is something the miners are very careful of and it is not often that they don't count the blasts as they go off one by one.

When I was still a greenhorn, we were out in the desert hills out of Yuma, looking at the old mines.

About half the hill had been drilled and set with dynamite, some 50 years before......and never set off.

I found all that lovely wire and was planning on taking it home with me.......until Bill caught up with me on the path and made me leave....without the wire.

There are still caves that were used for dynamite storage, that will have the old dynamite in them, we would find them now and then and leave very quickly, it is very unsafe when it is old.

Having had the honor of being a Minuteman for a weekend, I cannot tell you how frustrating the border situation is.

The "good guys" have seemingly gone crazy. We let terrorist in daily, Israel kicks out its' citizens to give terrorists a place to live, etc.

With children living in Los Angeles and Chicago, it's becoming harder and harder to not succumb to panic, but one has to rely on a belief in the One who provides a peace that passeth all understanding.

Yikes, that's a dangerous learning curve you had there. Good thing Bill caught you in time! Thanks for the explanation as to how the dynamite got in the granite.

IMO it's all about votes.

That cheap labor costs us more than 2-3 three legal citizens combined. That cost is welfare, hospital closings, medical cost, auto insurance cost, our gasoline prices, electricity cost, theft prevention, gang units, police overtime, the price just continues to grow!

When do we say enough?

Cindy and I just discovered that consuming garlic on Sundays in August leaves you wondering about October.

This changes things, wasn't the Toronto plane crash a French airplane?

Below is post #98 of the Venezuela plane crash

PARIS (AP) France's civil aviation authority says 153 French citizens
were killed in a plane crash in Venezuela."

maybe because DC not as high-value until after Labor Day because everyone is gone in August - - that was why they deliberately waited in 2001 for everyone to come back from August recess

Good point and observation.

Latest DEBKA assertion (that volume of encoded messages is unprecedented since pre-9/11) so far has no corroboration.

I agree, however in conjunction with other information such as the fuel truck threat and published AQ threats, this is something not to ignore, only try to verify.

So hitting the rear areas (Europe and America) of the "dual occupation" will (as they see it) lay the groundwork for a successful "Tet Offensive" in Iraq (which like in Vietnam they can lose in reality as long as they win in the battle of perceptions/expectations) that would (again, in their mind) lead to a regional upheaval (by taking the US down a few notches).

I think they've pass their window to launch a 'tet' style offensive in Iraq. They have lost the support of the locals who are turning them in in increasing numbers. The only way such an offensive could be staged is by haveing substantial numbers in Iran and/or Syria ready to move in. However, that would be hard to mask and the locals again would provide tip-off.

They are betting the national reaction will not be post-9/11, but post-Madrid. They are going for "shock and awe".

Some in this country would want a post-Madrid response. However, you don't kick the dog cause he'll bite back and I think the response will be equal to post 9/11.

Sure was. It was an Air France plane.
