oh sure there is. things like health care proxies, estate rights, tenant rights - if two gays want to enter into those agreements, I could care less. if gay marriage is legalized, it will be taught in the public schools as the exact equivalent of normal marriage.

no way, he's not as likely to do that. may I remind you that Bush 41 put Souter on the court, and Bush 43 may well put Gonzales on it before its over.

I thing Rudy would make a very good VP - if the Republicans want to hold onto the "war on terror", "security mom" issue that came after 9/11, they need someone identifiable as a leader on that. who do we have? none of the senators. none of the governors. we have only two people - Rudy and Rice. unless someone convinces Rumsfeld to get into politics.

Civil unions are marriage by a different name. The purpose of them is to provide the same sorts of benefits as for married couples, and ultimately to undermine the basic building-block of civilization.

First, off the radical right is a left wing term. Next, most republicans know this is nonsense and don't subscribe to that website's belief. It's similar to what the Klan was, and we all know that was the terrorist arm of the democrat party.

I don't understand why you get so upset. You tell Christian Conservatives to shut up for a while. Then you get upset when they tell you they won't vote if the nominee doesn't support their values. They are voluntarily leaving the party for a while. You say you don't want them. You should be happy, not angry.

Most of the people who have posted here and don't like Giuliani are not the rabid racists you paint them. The question you should answer is why can't you accept these people's principles are so important to them that they are willing to accept a loss so as not have to do what they feel is wrong. Perhaps you could start having folks like you agree that although Christians will accept imperfection they will not accept pro homosexual or pro abortion candidates. That is really not too much to ask, is it? And if it is, maybe it is you who are out of the mainstream of Republican thought.

civil unions would be a states rights issue - with no full faith and credit.

to be honest, if that's as far as it went, we would be lucky. unfortunately, I think the SCOTUS has 5 votes for full gay marriage.

There is nothing other than mere legislation stopping courts from forcing recognition of "civil unions" on the several states.

The only way to deal with this properly is to pass a Federal Marriage Amendment.

And, yes, it is that important. This is just another part of the ongoing attempt by communists to destroy Western Civilization.

Your post #326 could easily have been written by James Carville or Paul Begala.

And they wouldn't have blushed either...

I haven't painted anyone but the minority radical religious right as racists. Do you know how many churches subscribe to the nonsense in that tract. I know that I grew up in a Southern Baptist association church and Anti-Catholicism was the norm not an aberration.

It is those who jump ship at every opportunity that are out of the mainstream of the party because their support of the party has nothing to do with common ideology and everything to do with specific issues. The people who vote on single issues are not the backbone of the party they are the dross.

We're free Americans. We'll vote for whoever we want to.

And it will certainly never be for anti-christian bigots who think like you.

Words and more words I guess it is too much for you to keep your word, oh well. Yes jump ship everytime the party doesnt do what you want. Never build coalitions, never hold together in the face of the real enemy is it any wonder I dismiss your support.

When I posted that, I thought you were just an idiot. Your subsequent posts convinced me that you're something worse than that.

Well you can fling around insults too. I wonder where the actual Christians are around here because all I see is bad mouthed sailors.

Your 'dismissal' or lack thereof means nothing to me. You're totally ignorant of what the Republican coalition consists of.

Hey, you already slurred us as racists and the Taliban.

If you can't handle the response to your juvenile idiocy, go crawl back under the rock you came out from under.

It's probably in the DNC basement.

I know better what coalitions are than you ever will. You would drop a coalition in a heart beat if it wasn't lilly white and full of Christians who tow your pro-life, anti-gay, political agenda. One and two issue voters sicken me. I hate we have to even try to explain politics to people like this.
