"You should be aware that one of our group helped track down
and kill Pablo Escobar and other middle eastern terrorists. "

Pablo Escobar was a middle eastern terrorist?

What a nut.

Johnson was at the CIA for less than four years--one of which was for training. He was a desk jockey.
He then got shipped to the State Department, where it sounds like he worked as a glorified (by himself) claims adjuster.

That's all nice to know. Does any of that negate my previous comment? He is still the idiot who said that Americans were putting too much emphasis on terrorism right before 9/11 and if his intelligence level is representative...well, my statement stands.
And you really have to ask yourself...why in the world would the CIA allow a person with such minimal training and experience to put out such a stupid statement/article?
Sounds like a diversion tactic to me, but I'm rather eccentric so you may see things differently.
BIG DUH on their part! They, and he, rightly deserve to be lambasted.

You might also view my previous reply as somewhat "tongue-in-cheek", as in "just being a cheeky fellow". Your call.

Johnson hasn't seen the inside of the CIA since 1989.

He has played upon his less than four year stint there (he calls it his career) to get media attention.

He hates America and its intelligence agencies. So the media is more than happy to print his ravings and give him face time on TV.

Larry Johnson was a Secret Agent Man like I was a Pro Football Player.

Larry went thru CIA basic training and later watched others play spy.
I went thru Pop Warner training and later watched others play football.

If he had stuck to his Walter Mitty fantasies, that would have been fine.

But he is using his "resume" to try to do as much damage as he can to the the intel agencies, the war effort, and the country's defense in general.

As you probably know by now, he has been spending the last couple of years begging for intel agency employees to betray this country and to leak information that would be damaging to the Iraq war.

His is that big of a hypocrite--and traitor.

Yeah, I got that. And...?

I'm not meaning to be rude, but to me your "analysis" of all this seems as weak and vapid as his was regarding the terrorists.
Good night.

You ask me how the CIA can allow Johnson to publish his editorial in July 2001.

When I point out that he hasn't been at the CIA since 1984, you say I'm vapid.

Sheesh.

What a bunch of cheap ex-government sluts. He only registered their LLC web site for 1 year and then only the .com.

Speaks volumes about their idea of commitment, integrity and trustworthiness.

Anyone have a link to that article where he claimed the terrorist threat was exaggerated?

Sheesh, indeed. Can't you read? Your analysis was vapid, lifeless and almost rote, not you particularly.
Everything can't be lain at the feet of the MSM.

"Everything can't be lain at the feet of the MSM."

Which is not where I've "lain" it. (Laid is correct, you doofus.)

I've laid this at the feet of the cabal of America-haters headed by Larry Johnson.

It is VERY unwise to have an E-mail addy or any other such thing, which would enable any casual lurker to contact one off this forum.

I try my hardest to stay under the radar!!
