I think you misunderstand me.. I don't want to try to eradicate Islam. That would be impossible.
Continue what we are doing.. Free Elections have a way of silencing Radical Islam... How Many Afghans have we found fighting our troops in Iraq?
What we are seeing is foreign Jihadists from Countries where no free elections take place... Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria etc. etc.
Cheers, and enjoy what's left of the weekend.
Mike
You mean, say, liberate Syria or Iran next?
Or just continue in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Same to you, FRiend. Good to be standing with you. :o)
Most of them are a bit "indisposed" at the moment - 6 feet under.
Whne we're fighting a war in the heart of Islamdom, we can't afford to aggreavet the natives.
But I would feel happier if he was praising them while we were shutting down madrassehs and msoques, blocking their entry to America and shipping non-Citizen Muslims out of here.
The entire world witnessed the Afghan people vote in a free election, then the entire world witnessed Iraqi's by the millions come out and dip their fingers in Purple ink as they voted for the first time in a generation. There is no stronger message than that. Nobody on God's Green Earth dreams of being under the thumb of a Tyrant, they dream of being free to live their lives as they choose. This is a weapon far more powerful than all the JDAMS we can drop on their oppressors. Given the choice between Freedom and Oppression, the choice is clear, and we have a clear history of what side of this debate we are willing to shed our blood for.
Sprinkled all across the globe is the graves of our finest, they died for the freedom of people they never knew, the Middle East is no different

Thank God for them!!
Good night.. :-)
Gnite to you my FRiend
Hey golch.
First generation Iranian-American here as well.
Good post.

What are you talking about? Which advice are you referring to?
If you'd read the thread, this is the post I was referring to and responding to below. I may be wrong, but I don't think the American people, or the Commander in Cheif was praising the German and Japanese people during WWII.
#19 Much like every Tyrant we have ever went to War with, we always praise the people and demonize the leaders and devout followers. This conflict is no different
Amen. I do not understand why people WANT this to be a holy war. It is a holy war to them...but we need to offer a better way or we'll have two groups of crazy people killing each other.
Thanks... You made my point....
I could be wrong, but I think dropping the atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima were meant to end the war with Japan, not eliminate Buddhism.
I've heard the Japanese people were ready to fight to the last man, woman and child, to the death.
And I don't think our Commander in Chief or the American people were praising the Japanese people during this period.
Different time, different culture, different objectives, different kind of war. Just a few reasons why this is different, IMO.
Nope, fashion designer Ralph Lauren...
Didn't you know that '05 and '06 are lined up to be very "rich" and "vibrant"... ?

There are some big differences back then. The Japanese were not killing us because their religion told them to, it really had nothing to do with their religion, as much as it did with trade policies.
Sometimes it helps to read some of the thread prior to commenting.
I was responding to #19, See last paragraph of 19.
Thanks.
Sorry. I'll be on my way.
