You keep conflating separate issues, e.g. support for a ladies' swim session, with support for husbands beating the crap out of their wives. Such comments fall flat on their own. I don't think I need to answer this.
It is nice, although (as we note below) there are those who would consider such concessions to be a coddling of Islam, and you must therefore be a terrorist sympathizer.... (Do you ever wonder about folks who make such leaps?)
Some folks might see it as an encroachment of Islam on the rest of us. I prefer to see it as a crack in the dike: it's Islamic women saying, "we want to do something that we haven't had a chance to do."
Islam won't be civilized until it treats Islamic women as humans; and it won't do that until the women start asking little questions like this one.
It is the same issue. The REASON for these ladies NEEDING a separate,closed off, practically barricaded place to swim is the point.
If they swim any other way they WILL be 'disciplined' by their husbands/families. That facility ENABLED cultural abuse of those women!
It's the difference between a friend asking you to cover her with a blanket because she wants one and one asking because her husband demands she be covered or she'll be beaten.
You'd give the first friend a blanket if she was cold.
The second you would- I hope- help to escape the brutal husband who would beat her.
