Is this a setup? Watch for the NYT or the rest of the MSM to conduct a poll of "journalist" and see how many told Rove Plame's identity. They'll publish responses such as: "No wasn't me" , "never heard heard of her", "wasn't she in People or Vanity Fair"... They'll then claim that Rove is lying and should be prosecuted for perjury. Of couse, the real testimony cannot be revealed by the Court.
They maybe creating a Kangarove court in the media.

I also think the connections are exactly what you wrote. Speaking of blabbing, - 'ol Joe wrote in his book that Valerie broke her cover to him on their third date. That sounds like sloppy tradecraft to me.

Assuming that this conversation ever did take place, (and if Eason Jordan corroberates it, it must be true!) it becomes obvious that to Novak "works for CIA" "wmd specialist" does not in any way convey "covert."
There must be tens of thousands of people who work for the CIA and live around the beltway.

In all probablility it breaks down like this.
Someone was wondering where Miller was on the story, and asked her...She probably replied, I am not writing that story, bc Wilson was not sent by VP or DCIA, his Wife got him sent because CIA CPD does not support the War effort. (And you know THAT STORY WAS NOT GOING INTO THE NYTimes..)
Now, fast forward a bit, Cooper has a conversation with Rove. No big deal, sends the email to his boss. Goes home that night over dinner with Mandy-kins, discusses the days events. BAM two Cooper then turns the innocuous comment, into a storyu about the WH attacking wilson.Thats where the Clinton Fingerprints lie.
Tell them that President Bush called for the SP to find the leak in his admin because he does not tolerate leakers. The results will be revealed in October.
If they poohpooh that concept, tell them that Valerie Plame's kids and Matt Cooper's kid go to the same pre-school. (That may or may not be true, but it is conceivable.) All the glitterati have the same connections. The Wilsons seem to be supreme social climbers to me, so I imagine they would "have to be" at all the "right" institutions, clubs, etc.
Matt Cooper is married to Mandy Grunwald, close friend of Hillary, and high ranking dem operative.

Here's a former Democrat National Security Advisor who ADMITS stealing classified documents from the National Archives, most likely to cover up his and Bill Clinton's failures to grasp the threat of Al Qaeda, and NO journalist even calls the prosecutor's office the day he is supposed to be sentenced! They are all staking out Karl Rove's house!
And how about your friend's hero John Kerry exposing and naming an active CIA field agent in a hearing just a few weeks ago! We sure heard about that 24/7 in the media didn't we!

I await Novak's promised account; I imagine he's mad as hell today because somebody has "leaked" his testimony (how ironic that these HONORABLE reporters would do that, eh?).

Anyway, what gives Wilson the right to say or even think that she wasn't "fair game" -- she ORIGINATED the trip -- she IS part of the story, right?
He is way too indignate for me not to be suspicious that something more is going on here; this "protecting my woman" thing is wearing pretty thin with me.
Last night on Aaron Brown's show, even old dumb Aaron pointed out to the once again indiginant Wilson that that is the way D.C. works: you hurt me, I hurt you back; he asked Wilson why he thought he was so dang different.
