"Salvation Army soldiers are forbidden to join the masons, also."
LOL
Rev. William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army WAS a FREEMASON.

"Freemasonry teaches a naturalistic religion that espouses indifferentism, the position that a person can be equally pleasing to God while remaining in any religion."
An oft-repeated slander.
Indeed, to be a Knight Templar, one must be a Christian.
and after reading your FR home page, you claim to be a Catholic?
"LIKES: Fighting and drinking. Cussing and cheating. Whoring, whoring and more whoring.
SECRET AMBITION: To become rich enough that he can open his own combination
dope den / whorehouse / microbrewery... and be the only customer."
Christianity and Freemasonry: Are They Compatible?
Being York Rite, and not Scottish Rite, but being Anglican, what you describe sounds an awful lot like the Paschal Service (Good Friday) service.
It is, off course, followed, by the resurrection of Jesus The Christ and the re-lighting of the candle from the one left burning, followed by hymns and praises to the God of Abraham.
"An oft-repeated slander."
I don't have the time and/or the inclination to debate the issue but if you think the Catholic Church has slandered then I suggest you sue the Church and we'll see who is right and who is wrong now won't we...
My father was a Mason and so was my father in law. There's nothing bizarre about it at all. They do a lot of charity work, run blood drives, etc. As a matter of fact you don't even need to be a Christian to join. I know of several Jewish masons.
Not sure they should take that blame on themselves tho,
"Many of America's Founders were "freemasons" therefore the Constitution really isn't in place to guard absolute (self-evident) moral truths and we have the right to change it."
I have no idea what you are talking about.
dude... it's a CARTOON SHOW on Sci-Fi TV and it's tooo funny... i put it up there to try and get people to watch the show... it has nothing to do with me other than i think the show is hilarious.
"Will someone be excommunicated for becoming a Mason?"
No. This is up there with the lies like "Salvation Army Soldiers" hates Masons. (As posted earlier, the founder of the Salvation Army (like the founder of the Boy Scouts) was a Mason.)
"Baptists and other Evangelicals are also warned to avoid Masonry, because of its occult connections."
Then I guess the "Baptist Story Hour" was an occult program. Indeed, many of the most prominent Baptist preachers in this nation were Masons, starting with Bellamy, Francis J. - The Baptist Minister who created America's Pledge of Allegiance.

ooops... just looked at the page... seems that Sci-Fi has dropped their links to the site...(all the red x's) and all that text comes from the "Tripping the Rift" home page on Sci-Fi.com that now for some reason is blank. thankx i'll have to look into this.
No, very intentional.
I know what freemasonry "teaches" and it has nothing to do with universalism, farther than "all men are created equal and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalieable rights" to quote a famous freemason.
This was, and is, I suppose considered heresy to some, but, despite lies on the internet to the contrary, not the roman church.
Indeed, to the extent freemasonry deals with the hearafter (which is very little), it requires one to take "the Holy Bible as the rule and guide to your faith and practice."
for some reason the links to SciFi are down so that's why the red x's
i'll say this much, i'm a lot better Catholic than many i know... but now days, that's getting easier to do to.
you telling me John Wayne is EVIL too???
"As a matter of fact you don't even need to be a Christian to join. I know of several Jewish masons."
Partially correct. You must be Christian to join the York Rite (Knight's Templar).
Scottish Rite is open to those who accept the Holy Bible as the unadultered Word of God. I suppose Jews would be OK with the the Old Testament, but not sure how they would concern themselves with the New.
Your name is very ironic, given that Paul Revere (the hanger of the lantern on the Old North Church) was a very active Mason. (See the article.)
