First time I ever heard the charge "premeditated murder", also. But was the father in on the premeditation part, or just the coverup?
I was outside for a while, so missed a few things, but a quick check of Fox and MSNBC seems to indicate there's not much movement at this point. They've gotten fixated on that St. Louis plant explosion at the moment. As for the FBI beefing up or scaling back, Fox gave conflicting reports.
Talk about lost opportunities. If somebody had paid attention to this man/witness, and it was N...Heartbreaking.
I'm not sure what PVDS meant about how he 'hopes his son stands up to the interrogation', but it sounds fishy. A Aruban reporter or lawyer who knows PVDS said that she thought his lack of fluency in English is why he came across as 'arrogant'. She said he was 'misrepresented' as arrogant, when it was really his bad English. From what I've seen of the man, he's scared stiff. And Natalee's uncle, God bless him, zeroed in on this right from the start. That PVDS's reaction's were off from the first night. Even the hotel receptionist, when they ended up squabbling in the Holiday Inn lobby that first night, said the kids were lying.
Look under his picture: it says "I love Natalie"
Weird coincidence.
that it is... JVDS's little brother's girlfriend is name natalie
That makes sense. Scout out the tourist group for a few days and then assault a particular woman/victim the last night, and it is less likely she'll want to stay around and prefer charges. Especially if she danced with the guy who'd been so friendly and nice the past couple of days. Then a pill in her drink and whisk her off to the car. Bingo. This would be quite amusing to macho idiots.
I guess I mean brutal in the sense that they can hold people for weeks and weeks without charges and deny them access to family members, etc. I am used to our system where you have the right to be silent and the right to an attorney and they have to charge you or let you go. Imagine if you are innocent and get held up to 121 days {wonder why they picked 121 days and not 120 or 130}
JVDS, has a younger brother?
I thought JVDS only had an older half-brother named Lorenzo.
I heard Greta mention yesterday that it's possible somebody else took N from that beach after J left her, but I had the impression Greta mentioned this because it was certainly something Joran's defense team would say, not because she thought that's what actually happened. Remember, Greta questioned the VDS's and saw PVDS under pressure, and she's no dope.
The slave trade scenario is terrifying. Implausible to most of us because it's like falling off the side of a UFO, but the slave/prostitution trade is a thriving industry down there. Lots of money to be made, and that's evidently what happened to that other young woman who was kidnapped off the cruise ship a few years ago. Evil. Reminds me of the pedophile rings in Thailand and those places that got hit by that tsunami. They seem so bizarre and unlikely, but predator pedophiles plan actual vacations there for that specific purpose.
IMO, that is exactly what has happened!!!!
Included in the phots of crazi week in Caracas are some with Joran. And Valentijn who is fifteen I do believe has booze in his hands in a bunch of them.
Correct. He is couple of year younger than JVDS.
In civilized societies, an innocent person might confess for any number of what might seem peculiar reasons, including mental illness, depression, low self esteem, etc.. Joran doesn't seem to fit the bill, except that he's young. This is just my pop psychology long viewership of NYPDBLUE and Law and Order, and all those forensic crime shows on cable kicking in.
Read his blog... if you can pick up the slang and innuendo, you'll find it somewhat surprising. especially the rape quote...
Current drama is the big explosion in St, Louis.
That struck me, too...Beth Holloway's insistence that there were others involved in N's disappearance and they'd be brought to justice too. Last night she said she'd been told certain things by authorities, but wouldn't divulge more.
Nice that Greta is so confident about her appearance that she put this on her gretawire. Neil Cavuto often reads emails that complain about the size of his head and his ties. He just laughs them off. Love that guy.
Who's LE?
Propane tank went wrong, that's what started it. The local Agway has a big sign on the front door telling customers to leave all propane tanks outside. Well, now I can see why! Of course, in this case, this tank malfunction simply caused the other gasses and chemicals to blow up. Not your average backyard barbeque grill worry.
