Very interesting post. Strange that his disappearance coincides with Natalee's.

Your opinion , and that's all it is, is no better than anyone elses here. Get over it. I thought you only wanted to catch up, anyway, and didn't want to slough through theory and opinion? I knew I had you pegged! LOL!

Howlin, I don't think even Paulus remembers what he did that day, from what I read..(truth is stranger than fiction).

We haven't heard from Joran's X girlfriends, nor have we heard from Natalee's boyfriends..prom date, etc.

"Why aren't we hearing from other American girls who have had some sort of experience with him?"

I thought about that myself when reading the suspicions that this behavior is an ongoing thing with these young men on the islands. Taking advantage of girls on their last night etc. I think the girls are afraid, embarassed and just want to get out of there and forget about it. They don't want their friends and family to find out.

I can't get this "left her alone on the beach" out of my mind. Shepard Smith even said that, when he was in college, it was commonplace for guys to leave girls who'd had too much to drink. Am I naive or is this, in fact, commonplace? [shudder]

Well, I'm trying to say that maybe we're looking at this "crime" in the space of a few hours when HE could well have had all day long to "take care" of whatever the problem was.

I think maybe Paulus has a "history" all his own and was up to something untoward that didn't involve his son.

When did he disappear? What's up with that?

Depends how you're raised, I guess. I would never think of such a thing.

I hope Shepard Smith never left
a girl that had too much to
drink, on the beach.

>>I'm going with the instincts of Natalee's mother. She thinks the elder VDS knows more than he's told.

I can't even imagine how Beth felt when she sat there and heard Joran's father tell him not to say anything when Natalie's parents were asking questions about their daughter.

Okay, let's say he did leave
her on the beach. dumb thing
to do, but.....

Then why did he first say he
and the Kalpoe brothers
dropped her at the HI?

See, the changing stories is
what got the hook put to them.

The Mother wasn't sweating.

Joran's mom looked pretty sweaty to me. For that matter, so does Natalee's mom in some of the interviews I've seen. So what? They're all extremely anxious and exhausted. And it's hot and humid there.

Regardless, different people sweat differently. I'm just pointing out that sweating can mean lots of different things and doesn't necessarily point to guilt.

She appeared to be much more upset that her son was in jail than van der Sweat to me.

Are you now saying that Paulus van der Sloot is a cold fish and doesn't care about his son, therefore wasn't "upset" ? Now that would be a contradictory argument.

I thought the argument the "van der Sweat" people here are making is that he IS upset. Otherwise, why would he be sweating?

What I saw in that interview was a very typical reaction from a mom and dad whose son is in trouble. Mom gets very emotional and shows it; dad is equally emotional but tries hard to stay at least outwardly calm and rational. The very effort of trying to stay cool can make you sweat.

Shep spent alot of time in Panama City, Fl. While at first, I thought it unthinkable a guy would leave a girl on the beach, it does happen. Especially if the girl is out of it and can't walk, OR if the guy is very angry about something.

Howlin, how on earth are we going to find out what Joran and his Dad did that Monday? How????

I can't either. I completely admire Natalee's mother. I know I'd be in the Aruban jail for assault and battery and I mean that seriously.

I can't see Shep doing that.
He seems to be a very honorable
person.

I was just curious about something... Why do your posts have such short lines? It looks like you are posting poetry! ;-)
