Napolitano: The notion of complicity means the government thinks he did something to aid in the crime after the crime was over. Complicity is helping the perp cover their tracks.
Gibson: But why would the charge include kidnap?
Napolitano: He didn't plan or participate but helped cover it up after kidnapping was over.
His research shows no history in Aruba of murder case being prosecuted w/out a body.
But the officer who led the search disputed published reports Sunday that divers saw the body of Peterson, the pregnant Modesto woman reported missing Christmas Eve.
Peterson's body washed ashore near Richmond on April 14, a day after the remains of her unborn son were discovered about a mile away.
The Modesto Police Department had hired Gene Ralston of Idaho to search the bay with side-scan sonar. He now believes that what he saw March 13 was Peterson's body, based on where she was found.
"Piecing all the information we have now, I believe it probably was Laci Peterson," Ralston said.

But there is one case in the Netherlands that was prosecuted with a confession. But I heard Janie somethingorother say that, after many hours/days/weeks of interrogation, the interviewee starts saying what he thinks they want him to say so it will end. Kinda like minor insanity, perhaps.
So that's what images look like with sonar. Thanks. I am pretty sure I've been on boats that use sonar to find the schools of fish and thought it would only track movement.
Believe I heard that sonar detects objects up to 300 feet...???
I heard one of the female spokespeople for this matter say last night that if the suspect wants to stop talking, they stop. But maybe Aurba is concerned about the international community and just says what they think the UN types want to hear :-)
I see Howlin did a great job of answering your question. :)
Is that 300 feet down or sideways? Because if they weighted the body in any way, or put her in a cooler ala the Capano brothers, then they need to search the very bottom.
That's what I remember seeing on fishing boats when we went whale watching, etc.
Ya'll are helping out; I had a few questions I just couldn't get a handle on.
300 ft. down, as I understand it.
Are Aruban ATM;s different from ours? Here, my bank only lets you do one a day for a max of like 400 bucks.
I am convinced that was Laci; the very next day, storms raged in the bay for about a week; then she came up.
We're not talking about a shark attack. Aren't we talking about a shark-eaten body?
Guy from the Texas firm doing the search beginning tomorrow, said on Fox earlier today, that the wide-angle-sonar field of view is 800ft deep... 300ft. wide.
I thought Nat's cell was left in the hotel,,the chaperone had it. But then the Mother did that announcement about her cell being fixed for all calls right at the beginning.
That's good.
Do you remember the Copano case in Delaware? Lawyer kills his mistress, wants to ditch her body and puts her in a cooler. Has his brother (who built my parent's house) take him out with the cooler and they throw her overboard.
A few years later, the builder brother turns states evidence against his brother the lawyer.
Four Colombians have been found dead on the reefs off the coast of Aruba the last two days. They were trying to enter the island illegally by boat. The captain of the boat has been charged with several counts of murder, because according to the lone surviving witness, he pushed the people out of the boat some distance away from the coast of the island. .."
"Several times a week illegal immigrants try to enter our island illegally by boat, so they can come here to live and try to find a job. Tragedies ..."
"This has happened in the close proximity of two of the beaches where I have swam the most times of my life. There are reefs about 100 meters off the coast that keep the rough water from coming in...
