Well I never knew the Nazis did "programming". Just imagine a U boat or a V2 rocket running on outsourced softwares. Good you stopped them.If this nonrebuttal demonstrates the level of intelligence we have to contend with coming out of Bangalore, I submit there is no Indian problem.

I work with several out-sourced Indian programmers (I'm an IT professional). They are the nicest, most polite, intelligent and hard-working group of people that I have ever met. We could accomplish a lot more at my place of employment if the regular employees were even 1/2 as hard-working and polite.
And, their English is quite good - although they have trouble with some of our Southern terms - i.e. I "tumped" over the tea... :o)
To: ArkieGirl52
They are on-site, correct? I also know an Indian programmer. I wouldn't call him the most hard-working in the planet -- he's about on-par with American dedication -- but what he lacks in elbow-grease he makes up for with skill.
On-site programmers can be of any nationality and succeed. What I disagree with -- vehemently -- is that off-site (and offshored) programmers can be effective. In my experience, they cannot.
There is also a slight racial difference -- again, in my experience, Americans tend to be more inventive and 'fluid'. This sometimes is a problem as they program something you didn't intend, but more often is a benefit. Indian programmers, as a rule, are more rigid.
And don't even start me on Russian programmers. Boy howdy.

Yes - they are on-site... We also have off-site programmers... they appear to be good as well, but I will agree with you that off-site programmers are nowhere near as effective as on-site programmers...
