"The double standard of political correctness, one is 'free speech', the other is 'hate speech'."
It's a sad day to say .. but I think you're right.
May they all die with black tongues extending from their mouths to their ears and their anuses.
I'm up for it. How do we get it started?
Gee, I don't recall seeing it in the MSM....
I agree, most Americans could care less about the poor terrorists in prison with panties on their heads. Most Americans understand that these varmits want us DEAD and don't see much wrong with what the "suffered" It's time to bring back the 9/11 pictures- every day.
What right? And why?
To incite riots and foment anti-Americanism.
Fine. The judge should be given the pictures and sent to a Muslim country to release the photos in the worst slum we can find.
...Judge Alvin Hellerstein
Clinton appointee,, 1998...
What else do we know about him besides the fact that he is trying to use his power to undermine America and the WOT, not to mention endanger the lives of our troops?
Some of these judges have got to go.
"Does anybody else have a problem with a civilian judge sitting in a the U.S. having any authority to command the U.S. military operating in a foreign country? This aint a matter arising out of our Constitution."
Yes. I have a huge problem with this judge deciding how our military should act in a time of war, Especially since there are over 100 investigations going on, there have been charges, trials, prosecutions and conviction. This judge had no authority in this matter, and the ACLU had no standing to file to begin with.
Thanks for asking.
I'm with you. This stinking judge is WAY out of bounds and I hope the military thumbs its nose at him and doesn't realease ANY more photos. As a matter of fact, all of them need to disappear into ashes. What a bastard.
If this guy gets his wish and someday our country is at war with itself, I hope this guy is one of its first casualties.
Judge Hellerstein, you have the right to remain silent.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/10/26/noniraqi.prisoners/
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Non-Iraqi prisoners captured by U.S. forces on the Iraq battlefield are not entitled to the protections afforded by the Geneva Conventions, according to a recent legal opinion from the Justice Department.
First and foremost, from my limited military experience, I do not believe low ranking enlisted men and women, corporals and specialists, would have enough authority to carry out the crimes the military has charged them with without the approval of their superiors.
I believe our troops when they stated they were following orders. I do not believe the "few bad apples" claim. That is not the way the military functions.
To sacrifice these brave men and women in uniform doing their duty half way around the world in order for senior personnel to save face is wrong in my opinion.
Maybe there will be additional evidence in these photos to support the claims of our servicemen sentenced to hard time that they were following the lawful orders of superiors.
