I hope there is no compromise. The other danger is that the MSM will paint the republicans in the senate as "the bad guys."
They are so stupid, they don't even understand that the trigger has not been pulled yet.
Unless the Democrats vote against Cloture on tuesday, there will be no vote to change the rules.
Only if you can ignore their ignorance do you read on to realise that they think that judges decide cases based on their political party, and that elections which give one party power in all elected bodies is somehow undemocratic.

"MSM will paint the repubs as the 'bad guys'"
So what else is new. I believe the repubs may have finally figured out that being popular with a discredited media is not a good thing.
Actually I was kidding, the technology doesn't really work that way. When their spam analysis sees legit headers and checks MX records and finds legit servers sitting on the other end, nothing on any blacklists, and so on, they'll discard the spam flags.
Fortas was filibustered by members of both parties, it wasn't a party line issue.
