EVANSTON -- Some Evanston students want to write letters to Rush Limbaugh. Others want to call him out for a debate.
The reaction to the conservative talk-show host comes after Limbaugh put down Evanston Township High School's multicultural curriculum during his nationally syndicated radio show.

I'm sure they know who Hitler is. I bet a few of their fellow students have T-shirts which explain that Bush is Hitler.
It we had our act together here in Illinois, Rush (or Hannity) could come and do a live broadcast or book tour or whatever. He and local WLS would pump it. We activists would organize for it. We'd invite a few liberals also with them not realizing how the audience was packed and stacked against them as usually they stack it in their favor.
Then Rush/Hannity could have Ann Coulter and freepers like Jamie and DMZFrank do the fair and balanced panel thing.
Unfortunately, we in Illinois don't have our act together and would probably do ourselves more harm than the liberals would do.
"To know Rush Limbaugh is to love Rush Limbaugh - to Not Know Rush Limbaugh is to not care about current events."
Now that's a load of brainwashed crap!!! Rush is nothing more than a Hollywood political hack. He's an entertainer. He's no better than the rest of the media know-it-alls...complete with his double-standards.
With an emphasis on the greatness of communism, no doubt.
And btw, just how does "Latin American Studies" fall into the category of "non-Western"?
["Everyone knows who Hitler is," said senior Brian Minor.]
"Yeah. He's that George Bush guy whose picture is on all the protest signs...you know, the ones that say BUSH=HITLER. See? We watch the news!"
LOL! Yeah, his audience has only grown since then yet now he's considered mainstream.
"In a political science class last semester in which politics and the media were discussed, Noah Hayman said his fellow students clearly knew about U.S. history, but some said they never had heard of Limbaugh.
"That speaks volumes about how unimportant he is," Hayman said."
Wow. I wonder what it is they know about US history. Hmmm...They DISCUSSED US history...probably current events ala MSM. The fact that some did not recognize Limbaugh only demonstrates how pathetically improperly educated they truly are.
Why is this stupid story even considered "news?"
I guess the school board didn't want to address the touchy issue of having to "deal" with commie-sympathetic teachers going rogue warrior.
Do today's high school world history classes even talk about Korea, Vietnam, Iran/Iraq or does the syllabus still end with VJ day?
I'm sure that if many misguided teens were to hear the facts about these anti-capitalist "experiments" there would be few sightings of the "Che G." t-shirts popping up as a must have fashion statement.

dunno, it IS Illinois after all....
I'm not sure he was slapping the children but rather the adults in charge of setting the curriculum. Where are the adults in charge? Why aren't they defending their curriculum? Instead, they let the children cry and whine to the public about the big ole meanie Rush Limbaugh. Pathetic but predictable.
If he's so "unimportant," why do they care what he says?
What a great idea. Nice going.
However, your view that "Liberal doctrine has no basis in logic or fact" begs the question: If Liberal doctrine has no basis in logic or fact, why would you need a skilled debater like Rush to defeat a liberals argument?
Instead, anyone with a 6th grade education could defeat such a doctrine in an argument thus Rush accomplishments and defeating liberal callers is rather trivial.
I can tell you all you'd want to know about Andrew Carnegie! (rolling eyes)
Welcome to FR.
"To not know Limbaugh, is bliss. He doesn't represent my ideals as a conservative."
I wonder who would: McCain, Chafee? You DUers are a riot. Good luck with Dean and the Permanent Minority Party!
