Welcome, all you Freepers, to the continuing C-span soap operas about judicial nominations. "The Guiding SEARCHLIGHT, " "As the SENATE Turns, "One NOMINATION to Live" "GERIATRIC Hospital" (for all you Byrd and Lautenberg fans out there). Follow along with us, as the Dems raise the level of histrionics, bloviation, pontification, and all around bad acting to new highs, er, lows...
WOW! Won't do any good though---I don't think McCain would compromise on compromising....
I've never seen anybody as good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory as this bunch of losers. And I mean ALL 55 of them.
I am getting really mad too.
Now I think McCain must be leading the pack. He leads Lindsay for sure.
McCain loves this maverick chit, and Warner I already detest from the days when he stated he would break protocol if Ollie North won, but the others? What the hell is the matter with Lisa Murkowski? She is hardly her father's daughter.
How do you arrive at that determination? Their arrogance overrides rational thought. They are fully capable of betraying us on this vote with the thought they can survive our ire.
Their degree of pride doesn't mean they have have a realistic sense of where the base is on this issue. The result of this betrayal would not be known until the first vote in '06.
The demoncrats whoop it up in public while our RINOS stab the Party in the back behind closed doors.
Payback is a terrible thing. The LA Times for once is smart enough to realize that. A Dem president couldn't confirm anybody. What I suspect will happen, is that a couple of GOP senators will kill the nuke option, but warn that they will change their vote unless Dem judicial filibusters become far rarer than they are now, and for compelling reasons. At that point, the Dems will let most of the Bush nominees through. Just a guess. When a SCOTUS nominee appears on the horizon, we shall see if the nuke option revives (and that won't happen for the Reinquist replacement, since that does not change the balance of the court).
That is NOT what Bush wants; he wants UP OR DOWN votes on ALL of them.
Not some pack of 12 fools deciding for 88 other people.
We need to repost that toll free number.
I can't think of the correct screen name for the poster: "JulieRNR" something or other who posted the toll free number to the Capitol yesterday on several threads.
I hope you are feeling better!
Lott is such a wuss that he doesn't even have the courage to be a traitor.
Not so McCain....or at least McCain has his MSM buddies to back him up.
IMO, this comes down to Frist.
He has to call the vote next week.
These Senators are trying to avoid going on record. They do not want to explain this to their constituents. Wi or lose he needs to tell them to shove it and make it known where they stand.
Will ya just look at that?!?! It's enough ta gag a maggot!!!
Oh thank you. Yes, I am. I get nagging headaches and I finally got rid of the one that plagued me all of yesterday and into the evening.
Now tomorry morning, I am going to the dentist, but I suspect it'll be less painful than what y'all will be enduring with the damn chicken chit GOP senators and the brazen arrogant democrats.
Just a thought, but are any of the democrat senators planning to be "Profiles in Courage" by bolting from their party line vote?
I doubt very seriously that the Founders ever imagined that nominations to the courts would have to include playing Texas Hold Em' as part of the process. This small group of RINOS is trying to control everything with this process. Should it be allowed to continue, it will have very dire consequences for this nation.
Remember, Frist is having that "meeting" or press conference with those black leaders regarding the votes, especially Janice Rogers Brown....tomorrow.
I don't think Frist would want to let a group of conservative black people that are willing to publicly come out and support these nominees down....wouldn't look at all good on a POTUS resume...
The MSM won't be able to save his sorry butt if he pulls this stunt
All day long I've been listening to the Dems claiming that they are "only doing what the Founding Fathers wanted us to do."
I'm pretty sure there was NO Judiciary Committee back then.
That has been pretty much the $ million question all day--who/if any will cross the aisle, except McCain.
I can see where he would think of himself as a "profiles in courage" kind of guy---blech!
Yep, that is what Bush wants.
