I never said there wasn't more Mexicans in the southwest; ther is, thus the flags and such. I said they're not all pro-ILLEGAL immigrant, because they're not. Those who have jobs that would be threatened certainly aren't. Nor are those who see the drain on social services as being a threat to what they receive, which is many.
BTTT....
This just up on DRUDGE. I didn't want to post a separate thread without a link to story:

Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, WASHINGTON TIMES has learned.... are a significant minority where they live, and have assimilated, under heavy pressure. Used to be that way in the Southwest too. Not anymore.
And you said No, that's not true, Southwest hispanics are by and large against illegal immigration, implying a large degree of assimilation.
How do you square that with admitting that more and more Mexicans means more and more of their national flags being displayed on our soil? It's a first order sign that assimilation has not taken place, and that they still retain nationalist feelings for the old country.
So I reassert my original post to all here. The vast numbers of hispanics -- mostly Mexicans -- are already mostly indifferent to illegal immigration from Latin American countries, and will eventually side with the "migrants", if they haven't already. It's a natural thing. Like planting the flag of your people on conquered soil.
Which is what the Southwest basically is, if the ethnic content of the elementary school I drove by in the high priced Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose this afternoon is any indication.
Duh-oh...I guess it was Freudian...or something...
