I know several doctors who ride as well. Most of them are RUB's but hey, they are riding, at least a little.

I guess motorcycles don't have drivers... Actually they don't, which is why I gave the writer a break on his poor verbage throughout. Motorcycles have an operator and a passenger, with both sometimes both being called a rider. Drivers are cagers, never bikers. However, the piece reads awkwardly throughout.

rofl!! I don't know what to say.
That picture says "Ward Cleaver" in so many ways I'd want to vote against it, but hey,, it's got 2 wheels and a motor, so it qualifies.
Your in!

actually if you check a citation after an accident, many states now write "crash" not accident for just the reason you cited.
The reason FL did it was that there are many careless drivers who kill not only motorcyclists but pedestrians because they were careless.

" I understand you can rent one (Harley)for a day, week or month. I should do that and get it out of my system."
Don't do it! unless your ready to buy one. I use to ride motorcycles as a kid. Had a chance to ride a friends Harley about six years ago. Bought one the next week. I'm on my Electraglide every weekend. Life is good again.

Yvette is a "real" rider. She commutes on her bike, does several track days a year. Can drag a knee around a corner and pull a mean wheelie on her Honda CBR929. She has a genuine love of riding.

I guess I'm not a real rider. I've never even been to the track to watch a race, let alone attend a track day. Just not my thing. I appreciate sportbikes after a fashion, but in truth I don't really get the appeal. This is really all well and good because my experience has been that sport bike riders don't really like the biker set anyway.
As has been evidenced by a couple threads here on freep, a lot of sportbike owners/riders are openly hostile to anyone who'd rather ride a Harley. I've never fully understood the mentality, but I've come to accept it as just a fact of life.

Not what I meant, dude. What I meant to say is that she really rides and rides alot! A lot of people buy a bike and pose on it. She rides about 15-20K miles a year, as do I.
Sorry if it did not come out that way. True, Harleys are not my thing, but it is just me. I don't look down on anyone who rides one. Everyone who rides wants something out of it. Sportbikes do it for me and Yvette, Harleys do it for other people. Different strokes. I respect all "real" riders. Don't think much of posers, though.

Nah, it was my fault, I read it hastily. Those are some pretty serious miles to rack up, especially on a sportbike. Occasionally I still question if I'm ready for the comfort of a Geezer-Glide, but decide that I'm still too young every time. That tourpack looks better all the time though.
I just hate to drive. Unless it's genuinly cold enough to make riding painful, which is rare here in Texas, I'd always rather ride. Getting behind the wheel of a car just takes all the joy out of getting there.

Go ahead and get that geeser-glide. You can ride it the year round in Texas with the fairing on the electraglide. Its nice on your back and ass too. Hell it takes several hours to get the smile of my face after a long ride.

And in 2004, Randy Scott's murderer used up that favor and ever other favor he had to save his ass. What a farce that was.
RIP Randy Scott.

I'm heading to Sturgis again on my Sportster this year. If the ride is still comfortable I'll stick with the Sportster. IMHO, the sporty is by far the best bike HD ever produced. They're just so bulletproof. I know some on the road with 600,000 miles that just keep getting rebuilt.
