The abolishment of slavery was one of several issues that led to the Texian revolt. WND makes it sound like the abolishment of slavery was a complete non-issue. That's not true. The abolishment of slavery was an issue, just not the only issue.

I hate to say this but I seem to recall Santa Anna was antislavery and the Americans who had settled in the Texas region were very upset about it. I recall that was at least in part the reason for the rebellion of Texas.
