maybe the AJC forgot a 0 and the figure should read $100,000.

That's what I was thinking (10,000). Didn't sound like much to me but I thought it was just the difference in location....South vs West

This was to take place in Georgia. Perhaps the cost of living is lower there.

The only reason I can think of is that after living w/him, she learned that she'd be spending the rest of her life putting the commode seat down.

That's certainly possible. But it appears she had some very good parents she could have turned to instead of putting them through this hell. It wasn't just him. But what she did to her poor mother.

She already admitted it was a staged abduction so she had to have known police were looking for her which is obstruction.

There may be cases where a person faked their own abduction and were charged, since they could have just run away. I just don't know of any. That drama queen bimbo in Wisconsin got in trouble for PERSISTENTLY asserting that the perp was still at large.

So what would you like us idle speculators to do?

This is a forum, we talk, we speculate, we are sometimes wrong, we make cruel jokes. It is just the way we are.

Yep, I couldn't put anyone I loved through days of thinking the worst.

Reminds me of the old Roy Clark song, "Thank God and Greyhound, she's gone."

I really shouldn't have stuck my fingers in ya'lls argument, ---

I am really sorry---I wasn't commenting on whether they should get in trouble for not notifying the authorities..

I think Elizabeth Smart was gone for so long, there was some brainswashing that had gone on and kept her quiet---

I think if an adult wants to get lost, they have no responsibility to make there whereabouts known---but in this case it was very cruel to her family most of all--if one of my kids had done that---I don't care if he/she was 32...they would hear it from me!!!

$100,000 is more like it. My daughter's wedding in 98 was over $40,000 and I can't even imagine what my son and daughter-in-law's wedding in 03 cost. I do know the rehearsal dinner was a few. His brother was married 3 weeks earlier and for that rehearsal we threw a New England Clambake for all the invited guests.

$10k for 600 would be a heck of a deal. Just can't imagine what in the world they were planning on feeding them!

I know. In my office I have pictures from old weddings - 20's, 30's, 40's, etc. Wonderful things they used to do!

I have a sneaking suspicion the parents and fiance just thought it was another case of Jennifer being Jennifer....You're probably right and that's why the Feds were so hesitant with calling this a criminal act.

This kind of stunt also harms the cause of other, legitimate disappearance cases. How many people perish because the authorities choose to wait for the apologetic phone call?

>some of the things said about him on here, borders on character assination and libel. How would you like it if that crap was said about you?

Haven't you ever
read through a war-on-drugs thread?!
Didn't you glance at

the Save-Terri threads?!

would get a person
shot, knifed or kicked in the crotch
out in the real world!

Maybe the cheapo wedding reception sort of pushed her over the edge.

600 invited doesn't mean 600 attended. I wonder if it was 600 people invited or 600 invitations. Big difference.

But we just did 2 weddings and it came up to 200 per guest for dinner, etc. Weddings are expensive if you do dinner and dancing.

That would sound more like it. Might have been $10k for the room rental itself.

They just said that she had planned this for DAYS. Every picture they show of her has those wild eyes.
