Hmmm, hows about a couple a hamsters on a treadmill to power your Geo Metro, or, better yet, drill in the U.S. for oil which can produce alot of energy for very little initial energy spent. (Oops, that's not politically correct.) My sister's a Nuclear physicist so I felt compelled to throw my two cents in.

Get on the science or space ping list. I don't "lurk 24/7" but I do get all the science related stories. Besides this story was all over Fox and CNN. It was kinda hard to miss unless you live in a cave.
