I'd like for my representative to stay here and work toward solving OUR problems.

Is that too much to expect?

The sleazy one who worked the phones early on election day in FLA to get the 2000 election all mucked up. This guy is real slime!

Dismissal of Bell Complaint

DeLay Statement on Unanimous Dismissal of Bell Complaint

WASHINGTON- House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today released the following statement:

“The Ethics Committee has done the right thing in dismissing Mr. Bell's embellished allegations with bipartisan unanimity. While the allegations were dismissed, I accept the Committee's guidance. Mr. Bell displayed contempt for Congress by manipulating the ethics process in pursuit of his personal vendetta, and today's dismissal says more about Mr. Bell's conduct than it does about anything else.

“The Committee was forced to complete its work in a highly divisive atmosphere fostered by politically motivated individuals and entities who have attempted to tamper with and influence the congressional ethics process for partisan gain.

“For years, Democrats have hurled relentless personal attacks at me, hoping to tie my hands and smear my name. All have fallen short, not because of insufficient venom, but because of insufficient merit.

“Mr. Bell's allegations, coordinated with one of these groups, intentionally misstated law and facts and violated the spirit and letter of House Ethics Rules. Although I believe this filing should have been thrown out immediately, I have spent the last four months cooperating with the Committee fact-finding. To expedite this matter, I even offered to waive my rights to bring this matter to closure. I'm glad this matter has been brought to its conclusion.

“I would invite my political opponents to engage the battle of ideas instead of misusing the congressional ethics process or abusing the legal system in a misguided attempt to settle scores.

“I'll continue to work hard to advance the cause of Republican governance, which I believe is critical to America's security, prosperity, and families.”

Like Rush says......It's not the nature of the evidence, it's the seriousness of the charges.

Thanks for the ping---veeery interesting post with the names of the congresscritters and the amounts----

I have heard a few times the last few days that the reason there is not an ethics committee to check Tom Delay's stories is because the dems are afraid the ethics committee would REALLY find something they did wrong---

Methinks they SHOULD avoid an ethics committee...LOL

As for trips, I recall all those trips by Clinton, taking along his mother-in-law, the loony borther-in-laws. And those Chelsea trips.

As to receiving money, I recall Judge Ruth Bader getting $100,000 from just one source which she allegedly gave to various charitable groups. Why even give her that money? And then there are the gifts . . .

Yes, I believe he will.

One cannot given in to blackmailers or to bullies. They will keep coming back with more and more demands.

re: Soros: I see some parallels between Soros and the late Armand Hammer (western financier of Lenin, Stalin, and the USSR). I wonder to what extent Soros in in bed with the old Soviets and the current ChiComs?

Access to the intelligence data of a major nation state would be extremely valuable to somebody who is heavily involved in international finance. Having even a few hours advance notice that something is about to happen on the world scene can translate into a lot of money

I think you are missing the issue on what is going on with the Democrats and the Ethic charges on Tom Delay.

1. The Democrats are keeping the Ethic Committee from forming.
2. Democrats planned to use Ethics charges again high-profile Republican in the 06/08 Elections.
3. The Ethics Committee only has one case right now, and that is against Jim McDermott for turning over a recorded telephone conversion to the Times. (They are protected Jim McDermott from the Ethics committee)
4. As long as the Committee isn't doing anything, then any Republican they slap bogus ethic charges against cannot clear their name.
5. The Republican changed to rules of the Ethics committee to where a party line vote (5-5) would drop the charges against the person charged. That mean the committee cannot vote down party lines and charge someone with Ethics Violations.

This is a preview of the 06/08 elections. The Democrats don't have policy issues to run on, they need to make demons of the republicans, and run against the demons.

That's my two cents.
