Puerto Rico has some good people and they have some bad people. We should encourage the good ones, not give pardons to terrorists

I agree, but it wasn't the new satan for some on FR(GW Bush) who pushed for the pardon of the FALN terrorists, it is the new heroine of the rabid anti-immigration crowd on FR, hillary, who did.

Puerto Rico is a good example of what I'm talking about.

The RINO they sent to Congress is likely a Catholic, which is why he is pro-life, but he would never do anything to cut off the river of welfare payments to Puerto Rico.

If they get statehood and voting rights, it will be much harder for America to scale back the welfare state because they benefit so much from it.

We should give independence to Puerto Rico, not statehood.

No wonder you were hesitant in linking that obviously contrived poll. The way the poll was constructed it divides those who are against illegal immigration into numerous sub categories, many of which are redundant.

Witness how many questions varied around Tom Tancredo’s plan where one question is sufficient. It's clear the intent of the poll was to try to minimize the number of Freepers that are anti-illegal immigration.

The bad news for you is that 80.2% of the respondents want ALL Illegal Aliens to go back to Mexico under any proposed guest worker program or want no guest worker program at all. This doesn’t play well towards your CAL position of open borders does it?

Both. There is a surprisingly large number here who don't like hispanic citizens in this country.

Could you give me an example of specific freepers who meet this description?

Look at some of the statements that have been made about Gonzales, Garza, and Martinez.

Al Gonzalez is a gun-grabbing pu$$y, so of course he's going to catch some flack on a "far right" forum.

Why do you think Hillary is anti-immigration? Because she told you she is anti-immigration?

Do you believe her?

I don't.

LOL......Oh that poll.

Guess you forgot to inform readers that of the sixty percent you claim, FIFTY percent of FReepers would expect guest workers to GO HOME & apply from their country origin.

Notice only some EIGHT percent approve of GWB's 'proposal' which presumably allows the law breakers to remain in the US & become instant 'guest workers'.

Member Opinion

I would approve of a guest worker program if it requires illegals to go home first and apply for entry 27.0% 944

I would not approve of a guest worker program of any kind 20.5% 718

I would approve of a guest worker plan similar to Tancredo's 15.2% 531

I approve of the president's guest worker plan as is or with minor changes 8.8% 308

I might approve of a compromise guest worker program with some of Tancredo's ideas incorporated 8.5% 298

I don't like the wording of this poll and decline to participate 7.6% 266

Immigration from Mexico should not be allowed under any circumstances 7.6% 264

Undecided, other, pass 4.8% 167

100.0% 3,496

Free Republic is now the anti-illegal-immigrant movement's headquarters.

Do you consider yourself to be anti-illegal immigration?

I don't

I also don't believe her, but many on FR(especially the one issue immigration fanatics) do.

Adapt, yes. Become a locked down police State

The way I see it, if the police aren't stopping them on the border, the police will soon be stopping everyone, everywhere here in this country.

Wait a minute, many on FR are praising hillary for her so-called stand(a few throaway words in reality) on illegal immigration.

Who are some of those freepers? They must be pretty darned gullible.

There are a lot more Hispanic citizens in the country who don't like illegal aliens coming here.

Anyhting remotely good that the ACLU does is negated by the fact that they are "neutral" on the most important civil right of all, the RKBA. You should bring this up at your local level.

This one is more appropriately worded for the subject at hand.

Zero chance at my home chapter (NY) but I've seen some interesting movement in TX, NM & WI.

Sheesh, IMO your racism and anti-Catholism is showing.

My mother is Catholic, I was baptized Catholic, and I am not anti-Catholic.

You called me racist for no good reason and I think you should apologize.
